If only I knew, back then, what I know today. Who knew selling anything online would turn out to be like pulling teeth?! I could have gone to dental school instead of setting up an eBay account, etc. Instead of trying to please buyers, I would be trying to please people with tooth decay. Instead of trying to fill my pockets, I would be filling in cavities. Instead of finding ways to put food on my table, I would be finding ways to get people to clean food out of their teeth. What we would do if we could travel back to our past selves & teach! 😛

Ugh, I think you made the right choice. Digging around in a sea of bacteria and rot all day... 🤢

I concur. eBay sellers are loved a whole lot more than dentists... (but I like my dentist a lot when he makes my pain go away, or sees me in an emergency for possibly a bunch of cracked teeth from a fall...) I fired my previous dentist because he kept charging me to look at my cavities but not actually doing anything to fix them.

I would have gone with the dentistry, yes. My dentist makes an extremely good living (she's very good) and loves her work.

I think I would've made a pretty good orthodontist. Either that or optometry.

No one promises anyone a rose garden. We all make our own choices. Sold for 41.5 years as a career - Have a **bleep** degree in Auto Engineering with a business minor and 1.5 years toward my Masters. Never engineered one thing for any body. I enjoyed selling/marketing all in the same industry and products. Over time selling got more complicated - financing programs and service/maintenance programs became very popular vs selling the "iron" features and benefits - competition became more keen and profit margins dropped - ya' had to adapt to all the changes. Lee Iaccoca (mustang founder and Chrysler savior - said it best - You can lead, follow or get out of the way. If ya' don't change you get further behind
BTW many dentists (aka Dr. Pain) develop emotional issues as they deal in the "pain" industry day in and day out.

Everyone works for someone. Doesn't matter if you are a self employed Dentist, an eBay seller, or an employee of some company. Everyone that wants to make a buck answers to someone.
The more bosses you have, the harder the job is to please people.
One thing is for certain, everyone has to please the person buying. But you still have to please your boss too on top of that, if you are employee too. There is no way of making money that you don't have to answer/please someone.
The question only becomes what are you willing to do and to put up with to make money.

So you applied to dental school and got accepted, but chose eBay instead?

You may have also decided to seek a career in politics you never know.

I could never be a politician or work for one. I'm not a dirtbag. lol

No. lol I'm using sarcasm. Getting someone to buy something is like pulling out teeth with a pair of pliers.

But at least when we pull these teeth we don't have to do it in a cloud of halitosis (though admittedly false INAD claims stink almost as badly).

I know I'm new at selling, but I enjoy selling on eBay, I know there are issues sometimes but over all it seems to be worth it. 😁

Never have expected sales for items buyers do not need or want.
Don't seem to have any problem selling items buyers need/want.

Suffering like a pleeb only makes you stronger. Like the sport of shin kicking.
