IS THIS HOW THIS NEW SCAM WORKS? SCAM BUYER IS ALL OVER MY STORE!!!

This is my theory!! Feedback?

I think I figured out why they do it and how the con works.  I got this address shown below today.

8 5 5 O,.[.Nort.w]70th/Street/R.p[38513

Miami FL 33166
United States

What happens is that people will correct the address because Ebay will not let you ship to this address. People will try and fix it like so.
8550 NW 70th Street RP 38513

If you change the address, YOU LOSE YOUR SELLER PROTECTION.  When they dispute it you will automatically lose the case? That is just my guess. They ordered 5 item, same address with different names.   Thoughts?

I agree that cancelling a Problem with Address is a sensible solution.

But

That address looks like a freight forwarder for an overseas customer when I looked a Google Maps . Probably Zeatrans Charter Warehouse which exports to the Caribbean.

Freight forwarding companies are almost as safe as Post Office boxes and safer than most porches as delivery addresses.

Your customer may have had difficulty in typing in his forwarder's address. You can ask him to redo it. If he doesn't cancel immediately and Block the customer.

No, fixing the street address is fine: As long as it's Delivered, Notice left, Available for pickup, No such number, Returned to sender, etc specifically in zip code 33166 or anywhere in Miami FL, you're protected from a false claim of Item Not Received.

We can fill this discussion board with conspiracy theories all day long, it won't do any good, few people are going to investigate situations where a crime did not actually happen.

Except one did. Same address as last year, He ordered over 20 items and then claimed that they were not as described. Fortunately eBay found in my favor.  Fake names etc etc. This is a scam.

That is 100% wrong. It states when printing label when you click 'edit' that editing you will lose your seller protections.

Cancel and have buyer fix their address and repurchase.

My problem with freight forwarding is what happens if the item is damaged? The buyer will come after you, the seller, when the damage may have occurred on the freight forwarding leg of the trip.

I sent an item to Florida, then I got an email, in Japanese, 4 weeks later, complaining the item was broken.

Another time I sent an item to Albany, NY and received a complaint from Montreal, Canada.

I cancelled this bids and they are now threatening me.

"you are a miserable bad husband okay

If you cancel my orders, I will sue you and I will classify you as a bad seller so that the ebay platform will take you out"

and '

"you cannot cancel the orders without reason, and if you do it again what qualifies in a bad way'

Those threats are meaningless. Add this buyer to your 'blocked' list so they cannot purchase again. Do NOT engage in any further communication with this person- it is a waste of time and brain cells.

What I do, in some cases that seem legitimate, is change the address by writing on the label itself.

Is that working? I thought the Post Office sends it to the QR code or the bar code that they scan. What are they going to make of a printed address that does not agree with the bar code ?

DON'T EVER DO THAT.

NEVER ship to another address than is what used from the purchaser (buyer)

ALWAYS ship to the address given.

IF buyer wants a different address, tell them to 'fix their address on paypal, ebay etc.' .  Simply tell them you use eBay's automated shipping labels and it only prints to the address they used when purchasing. You can then tell them to fix and repurchase after you cancel.

Relax, UD! If the message to send to a different address (such as a buyer asking the seller to send the item as a Christmas gift to their friend or relative, which I have done many times without problems ) and the message is from the buyer, the seller is covered. If anything goes haywire. EBay can scan the messages and see that it was the buyer's request.

Help your buyers, don't hinder them.
