I sent an item that was seemingly lost by USPS. I refunded customer. Weeks later it showed up

Buyer would like to pay for it. How do I do this?

You can use PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, etc.

You can create a new eBay listing for them to purchase. Change it to local pickup only if you're worried about your "tracking uploaded" metric, however most sellers can get a hit on that with little to no impact before it rolls off in 3 mo.

A lot of sellers on this forum are old school so they will suggest things like having the buyer mail you a check. Certainly an option, but it's riskier plus a lot of people don't have checkbooks these days.

Question @wastingtime101

If someone has an item that is missing or just stuck in the USPS system, if the items value is worth getting back, could the seller request an "Intercept" through USPS? Even when sellers are forced to refund a buyer when a INR is placed, could the seller just make the request to get the item back. (before found and delivered) And if it is lost, do you think the seller would still have to pay for the "Intercept" request even if USPS lost it? (would they be refunded that cost if the service was not fulfilled)

Been there. Tried that. Intercept failed. Was not charged the fee. Got delivered to the buyer.

Honest buyer. Item refused. Returned to me.

USPS intercept fee is $18.35 (unless my memory is off) and only charged if the intercept is successful.

Can always get a money order from the post office and mail it to you.

Assume you had your return address on the package they received.

I tried this and after a few days I got a email that the intercept has failed and the item would continue on to its original destination which it never did.

This just happened to me as I was the buyer.

I contacted seller to see if they had PayPal. They only had Zelle.

I ended sending a check in the mail to the address on the package in which the seller confirmed in communication.
