It's your call.

You've made me curious, what is a copy book? What makes that a reportable item? I honestly don't know I'm not trolling you....

Me too! Just WHAT is a copy book? I read it fast and thought you said a cookbook! Copy book is new to me, too.

OP must mean a pirated edition of a book. Most books are not worth pirating, but pirated textbooks are a big business. (Both physical copies and e-copies.) This is not surprsing, given the huge cost of textbooks.

Enquiring minds want to know!
What is a copy book? An illegally printed pirated copy?
Can not find any eBay listings for "Copy Book"

Well, I am soooooo old that I remember copybooks from my school days. They were just that -- books with examples of handwrting for us to copy.
Now, of course, cursive isn't even taught in most schools, much less does anyone care about nice handwriting. But we did in those days, and got stars and certificates and prizes for it. (Yes, I am that old!)
But I'm sure that's not what OP is talking about. I'm sure OP is referring to an illegal copy made of a book, a pirated edition.

If that's what a "copy book" is, I have one too... only mine is teaching me to write in Hebrew.

If the copyright has elapsed on the book, and the owners of the copyright have not yet renewed, the book may well be in the public domain. Most books published before 1923 are in public domain, unless they are later printings with additional "new" features, such as new illustrations, new forewords or afterwords, additional texts, new appendices, etc.
You will find probably thousands of editions of books on eBay which are currently in public domain, as there is nothing illegal about re-publishing a book in public domain.

I remember those days, too! It was a big deal and we were so proud if we were chosen. Thanks for that!

I took several years of Palmer penmanship in school and it just never stuck - I kept flunking the class (well, I flunked about half my classes, but this one I really did try), it's like I was some kind of spaz when it came to cursive. I'd say half of my generation has horrible cursive and we tend to half-print, which is what I have done for eons. I have a friend in his 70s who writes like an 8 year old lol - I think it's adorable and love it when he writes me messages.
ETA: Having said that, a nice hand, or at least a nice signature, is classy. I also remember copybooks but ours were ruled blank paper with black and white marbled covers. Mine were full of doodles because I was a poor student, where they didn't have my sorry attempts to learn cursive.

I don't know what you mean by a "copy book". To me it is an old fashioned term for a student's notebook in which she copies the teacher's instructions.
Do you mean a counterfeit copy of a copyright book, perhaps?
@maxine*j
I'm 75, and personally I'm glad that cursive is no longer taught in schools. While print is slower, typing is faster and more useful.
All those jokes about illegible doctor's notes? Cursive. And sometimes fatal.
People admire my quasi-italic handwriting because it is very pretty, but it is also close to illegible. I can write Spencerian but it is unnatural to me.

Recently passed on a Palmer certificate issued to my late Mother to my first niece , a teacher. Mom was a born in 1919 grew up on a homestead in the far S E corner of North Dakota, walked to a one room school house over a mile away, lived through the Depression and Dust Bowl - never finished high school. Mom was very proud of that certificate, signed by the County and State Superintendent of Education with an applied large gold seal and she had a beautiful handwriting. Taught and showed us all the meaning of "Waste Not, Want Not" and "Hard Work Never Killed Anybody" - it paid off.
BTW that one room school house was still standing (not functional) in the middle of a prairie in 1976 - my last visit to ND at age 32.

OMG! I remember those books! I went to a one room school in the 1940s and we had a class in Writing and had to use those copybooks. I worked so hard on my writing skills that I still get complimented on my handwriting yet today.
