Ebay wants me to drop prices again on several of my items. I refuse to do so, for if I lower prices, I will lose money. I have already cut them to the bone. While ebay buyers have the right to buy or not buy any item, I will not sell at a loss. It would be more cost efficient for me to keep the items listed at the prices I have them at, or transfer them to auction houses where the clientele are seemingly more willing to pay a fair price for extremely rare and historical items. This is not a criticism of any ebay buyer, but Ladies and Gentlemen (and ebay), sellers cannot sell at losses. If they do, ebay will collapse. I appreciate all ebay buyers, as they keep ebay going; and that helps everyone: buyers, sellers and ebay. Thank you.

You're going the wrong way, you should be raising them.
Constantly, high, up up and away, ping the sky.

So are you raising your prices , up up and away, or is this advice actually meant for your competition ?

It was a suggestion, not a mandate. There is no need to respond to it and you do not need to justify your prices to anyone.

Just ignore the eBay suggestions. However, there are times where items will sit for months and months and you may have to sell at a small loss. It's better than just hanging onto an item that will never sell and not having any money at all for it.

I pinned a bunch of your items to my Pinterest boards for military and collectibles. Maybe it will bring you some sales 🙂

It basically comes down to how much you're determined to get your original asking price for the item versus how much you'd like to move it out and get some money for it/make space for new inventory.

Ebay or Fleabay loves their Chinese sellers , so yes you better lower your prices or the Chinese will ALWAYS out price you due to the difference in what a US dollar is worth in China...I suggest selling on Mercari as well and Poshmark , Etsy Etc ... My items sell at a higher price on Mercari ALL DAY LONG ... Hmm dinger ....

If ebay is suggesting it, it is good for ebay.
What is good for ebay is not necessarily good for you.

It's just a suggestion.

I have no problem ignoring these suggestions.
Very little effort required. 😉

Coolections wants everyone to sell everything for $1. lol Tells everyone : "Your items are not selling because your prices are too high." When you ask him for evidence of this, he has nothing or compares apples to oranges. 😛

me too...that's why i don't, i raise them

Ha, I agree. Raise them. I have a museum quality statue. I've had it for several years. They dont make them like this anymore. I am asking what I paid and considering I take a hit on FEES, I wont budge a dollar on this item.

Your comments are reasonable, but you should be subject to such policies, right?

eBay's system for determining value is a disaster. They do not even use the information you supply. They do not take into account a 'lot' of items or when an item is autographed, for examples.
We were selling a lot of 30 books. We noted in the checkbox that it was a lot of 30. eBay insisted that it was worth less than $10 - because they assume it was only one book.
They do this all the time to us. Our sales would triple if they only took the obvious into account. (but that might actually requires that someone push a few buttons)
