I received multiple offer for an item. I accepted the first one but the item shows still available and I received more offers. In the meantime the first one showed expired. Is this something new from ebay? I accepted the second offer also. The third offer was the was the higher one and I accepted it. The third buyer paid.
Now the second buyer said she wants to pay.
Is this right?

Yes, the item stays up on the listing page until paid for. Accepting an offer does not take it off the listing page. 2nd offer was too slow. If you wish you could send the 2nd offer person a note explaining that, or not.

When you accepted the offers and the buyers received notice of your acceptance, they are also told that others may have accepted offers too and the first one to pay is the winning buyer. For buyer #2, "he snoozed, he loozed!"

Actually, you require the buyer to put up a payment source in order to make an offer in the first place. When you "accept" your buyer should be auto-billed and the payment should be made automatically (aka auto-pay). You may wish to ask eBay why this did not happen for the first, or even second offer you accepted.
Here are your settings that are supposed to result in an automatic payment upon your acceptance (unless you accepted a counter offer).
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Buyer Rules:
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they place a bid.
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer.
Others have been reporting that their buyers are NOT being auto-billed even if you require it. I am going to ask a eBay "BLUE" why this is seemingly no longer happening.

Can any of you tell us if the policy has changed for sellers who require a payment source in order for their buyer to make an offer AND IT IS ACCEPTED by the seller?
Has eBay removed the "auto-billing" component? Many sellers that require the buyer pre-select a payment source in order to make an offer. have reported that their buyers are NOT being auto-billed upon acceptance of their offer (NOT a counter offer). If that is the case, and the products are simply remaining for sale until someone pays, why is the pre-payment selection screen there at all? All it does is at that point is limit a buyer's payment options, as invoicing/combined shipping is still disallowed.

You'll get charged as soon as the offer price is accepted.

Maybe the seller had auto pay turned off?

There is a setting when you list your item for sale asking you if you want the buyer to pay if you accept the offer, but I didn’t have that on. From now on I will always put it on .

Hey @ittybitnot thanks for checking in. We have not removed or changed the way the auto-payment function works. However, there can be exceptions, such as a second chance offer, where auto-pay will not apply. That being said, if it is not working as intended, we would recommend the OP contact our Customer Service team to file a report on their account.

@redmodelt
When I went to make an offer on one of the OPs listing, I was presented the screen to choose a payment source in order to proceed to make an offer. That is the usual signal the buyer should be auto-billed when the seller accepts the offer, as well as the indication that the seller retains the preference (buyer rule).

Thank you for the response. Basically, that is the advice I have been giving for sellers that insist they are accepting buyer generated offers through the offer flow, and are not counter offers from a buyer.
There just seems to be a growing number of sellers whose buyers are not being auto-billed as would be expected, with this thread just another example.
