I realized after an auction was over that I had put the wrong description of the item. They were 3 "D Handle" Fire King Jade-ite Mugs and I had put "Jane Ray" Mugs (a pattern of Jade-ite). Before the buyer paid, I wrote and explained that I had made a mistake in the listing and explained it and asked if she wanted me to relist it and start over. I heard nothing. Then, she paid for the item. So, I wrote back two more times, explaining that I didn't want to send her something that was not what she expected and that I needed her to acknowledge that the items were "D Handle". Two messages were sent out two days ago and one yesterday. I'm supposed to ship in 2 days but I don't want to risk her getting them and then she complains that it's not what was described. What should I do? Write her again telling her that if I don't hear from her in the next 2 days, that I will refund her and relist???

Rock and a hard place
You obviously know that this is a INAD case waiting to happen
You could cancel the order and take the hit on seller metrics or ship and keep fingers crossed

Well, this is a dilemma. Your buyer may not come back to eBay for days, and therefore won’t receive your messages by the time you need to ship. If it were my decision, i would take a chance and ship them, for this reason:
If you had the correct photos but wrong title, there is a good chance the buyer wants the mugs depicted. Many buyers use the photos to make buying decisions. Some don’t even bother to read the listing.
If you decide to cancel the transaction, i would wait to relist until i heard from the buyer (to give them the first opportunity to rebuy the mugs if she still wants them, then relist).
Let us know what you decide and your outcome. Good luck!

If the buyer has paid, you should have their phone number. Why not call and talk to the buyer to be sure they want it?

True the seller could do this but then there is no eBay data to back up the seller like there would be with eBay messaging

So, you think my messaging her three times about the situation would cover me?

Not without a response.

That was an honest mistake. Those mugs ( and anyone who knows their jadeite should know) are referred to as the restaurant line. Fireking produced this heavier line of dinnerware like your cereal bowls for diners and such.
The price she got your mugs is great and I'm sure she is aware and thrilled.
I would honor the sale with a beautiful little card and maybe a small token for her time. You tried to reach out with no avail. Best in sales to you!
