It pains me to quit eBay after selling on here for 20 plus years. But I don't like all the changes and all the complaints about them surely back up my decision to quit. I'll let everyone who is staying battle it out with the changes and also competing with China that charge less to sell something than I had to pay for shipping alone. Pitiful. So I just deleted all my items. Is there anything else I have to do to no longer be a seller .... but remain a buyer, maybe? Thanks.

Nope. That's all you need to do.
And it leave the door open for the future.
If you ask eBay to close your account, they will, but it takes a few months to allow all financial implications to time out . (Credit card chargebacks, PP disputes, etc.)

No, I don´t think there are other things to do. Other then make sure you just PAY your remaining Fees, if you do have any.
You do as I do. I am DONE selling, but I will stay on Ebay so I can BUY from time to time.

Since you can't "turn off" Managed Payments or disconnect your bank account, you're done.

So I HAVE to ask eBay to close it? How would I do that? And I don't really have anything pending. No sales. All delivered. No return requests. Maybe just a few cents for my last $3.50 sale already delivered, etc., for eBay fees .... if they haven't already taken it. So, do I go to my account and erase my info or do I need that for buying something in the future?

If you had a store subscription you need to close it to that can take a couple of months process, You could find things that China sellers don't have like one off items so then you don't compete with them Like in my store they can't get the same one as every item I have there is one only as an example.

Echo what has been said about leaving the door open to return here should the need or desire arise. Building a successful Seller account from scratch is much harder today than it was years ago. Make sure you settle up with e-Bay and have no financial loose ends.
Wave to those of us who are still "battling it out" as you say when you shop on e-bay from time to time. Good luck!

I didn't have a store. Just about 100 items. As for China ... say, when I tried to sell something ... and they were selling the same thing, they'd charge like $1.50 for it and it would cost more than that for me just to ship it if I was able to sell it ... perhaps to someone who didn't want to wait FOREVER to get it from China. Thrift stores also were about the same way .... selling super cheap and they got their books for free when I had paid full price for mine years ago and just tried to make more than the shipping cost for them. Things like that. All my stuff was my personal things.

I refused to do managed payments.

Closing your account and deleting your data

You're not by yourself, I quit, too. And, as of you, the more I read about eBay's behavior and the many many problems that a seller faces, being an eBay seller nowadays, it's just not worth it.
I didn't have a store subscription nor any pending matters, so it was easy for me, I just ended all of my listings. And I guess "eventually" eBay will not be linked to my Paypal account, so that's good.
Good luck to you.

Sorry to see you go. It's not a battle for me, change, adjust, roll.

A couple of days ago I called ebay about an issue and I confided with the rep abouut how ebay had slid to being a hateful venue and that I couldn't wait to sell what I have listed so that ebay and I could part ways. The rep understood and when I asked him what do I do to close myt account he was ready to do it. So just call ebay and ask the rep to do it for you. Good fortune to you.

Well, if you are DONE selling, and you are sure to have paid any remaining fees and everything is a ok, then everything should be a ok. Then go close it for good and never ever return. Or jsut completely STOP selling and ONLY use Ebay as a platform of BUYING stuff. If you do no tever want to buy or sell here at all. Go close it and be done iwth it.
Managed payments is ONLY if you do SELLING.
