@dont_pay_retail Can you list the actual seller id to make it easier to find?

I had a similar problem with mine originally. It looked fine on the preview screen but was then badly "whacked" on the store page. You need to go back to the preview screen and re-scale the picture. (It is either a percentage or pixel count change - don;t really remember - its been a while.) There is probably a formula but I simply did a trial and error.

Looks like you used the correct dimensions. When you view the banner outside of the edit store tool, eBay made it so that a duplicated blurred image sits on the background of the banner.

I think it was just a design decision on their part, not sure if we can do anything about that.

Mine does the same thing

I also have a banner that should have the correct dimensions, 1280 X 290 px—however, my banner displays buffers on both sides.

eBay recently brought the store categories out to the main page instead of hiding them by default behind a menu drop-down. This design change made the entire store page wider, so buffers were added (IMO) to keep the banner in line with the rest of the store page. I have tried changing the dimensions of my banner, but the buffers remain.

@dont_pay_retail

It depends on the width of the screen or browser window that you are using to view the store.

With a narrower window, the banner looks fine. Up to a certain width, eBay scales the height of the banner to fit the width. This screenshot shows the full width of my wide-screen monitor, with a browser window that is a bit narrower than the monitor width.

As the browser window gets wider, the banner reaches an upper limit for the width and/or height. I don't know if this is a preset limit, or if it is based on the pixel dimensions of your image. But either way, after this limit is reached, the banner image stays the same size and eBay compensates by filling in at the sides with a blurred background. This screenshot shows the effect; in this case, the browser window is the full width of my monitor.

You can try enlarging the image you use for your banner, or try changing the proportions, and make it wider in proportion to the height. Either one should improve the situation. Or, you can just not worry about it. As others have said, it looks fine.

you see the part that goes beyond the black line, that is the blur portion but your screen dimensions must be different from mine or you have your browser zoomed in a little

This is how it looks like on a 1920x1080 monitor with no zoom.

@dont_pay_retail  might just want to change the yellow color to something else, then the blur will look a bit better.

My screen resolution is 3840 x 2160, 2560x1440, or 2560x1600 depending on the device I'm using. The width of my window is 1200-1400 wide... I don't use full screen as many websites tend to be formatted in the old magazine style ... It looks like to me that ebay is trying to fill in blank space when you go outside of the magazine style width that websites used in the late 90 early 00s. It the same effect vertical cell phone videos on TV are displayed with. I suggest you stop @iamcara using the full width of your 1080p (1920x1080) screen and that will go away. It's the same reason that some websites will give you white bars on the sides if your screen is too wide for the magazine format.

Kind of an odd suggestion but to each their own. I for one cannot resist the urge to have my web browser in full screen if you get what I mean. Can't imagine how people use their browsers windowed.

@iamcara  It's easier to do when you use a monitor or TV 30 inches or bigger. As an example newer TVs can be plugged into computers which give people the option of "4K" resolution which is this context is 3840 x 2160 which allows you to have the screen space of 4 1080p screens together, 2 on top and 2 on the bottom in a square formation. Think as if you had 3 other 1080p screens around your one screen that you are using. When you try to use a web browser in fullscreen in that case page formatting gets out of wack.  You could search for "web pages on 4k vs 1080p" on any video site and get an idea of the difference.
For web browsing on a large screen that be used as a computer monitor and does 4K you would not be using full screen, mostly because your eyes have more distance to cover as you would be sitting close to the screen like you do now with your 1080p screen. Looking at movies and photos is much different. you could easily have two web pages side by side and not have any overlap. The best way I can explain it in a relatable context is when you are a kid the kids clothes feel just right, but when you grow into an adult kids clothes are just too small. If you tried to browse the web on a 1990s computer today you would notice how small everything is compared to the 1080p screen that you are used to using now.
