I'm really fed up!

1st it now takes me so much longer to list my items because of the new listing set up. Instead of making simple adjustments to items on "Sell Similar", I repeatedly have to re-enter info because of this crappy system.
Also, how on new listings can I have "Watchers" but have 0 "Views"???? This new "Views" system that ebay has enacted is FLAWED! Some might say, "views aren't important"... but I highly disagree. I like to know the number of views, because if there are many and the items not selling.. I need to do something about it... ie. price change or sale.

WHY DOES EBAY MESS WITH THINGS THAT WORK, AND DOESN'T DO JACK ABOUT THINGS THAT ARE BROKEN?!??!?

thanks for listening, I needed to vent.

@james8728

One can select to "watch" an item without opening the listing and "viewing" same.  I use that feature when searching for products to buy, then go back later and peruse the actual listing/photos/description.

Regarding watchers vs views; besides what ittybitnot stated, views are a rolling 30 days. Watchers are total.

So if you have a listing that is 90 days old, you can have 10 watchers (from the previous 60 days) yet only 2 views because only 2 people viewed it the past 30 days. If one of those 2 'viewed' it 30 days ago, tomorrow there will only be 1 view because that person 'fell off' the 'rolling 30 day'.

Well that's depressing. How's that done, by clicking on the ♥ ? I don't think that should count as a "Watch".  A "Watch" should be counted as someone who has viewed the listing and then clicks on "Watch this item".    IMO

I think still you can use old listing tool. Currently, I'm also using that. It is better you go for eBay chat.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm talking about listing that are a few days old.

Also, my "Views" have gone to complete crap since this new 30 day system has gone into effect. I'm not sure if they changed algorithms as well. So frustrated.

I Agree The Views Are Flawed, & I Also Like Seeing That Proper Info!

Not sure if this will be helpful or not. I took a look at some of my hot sellers that have become boat anchors since the changes have been made. What I found was the item was still a hot seller, but the sold items were not in the category I have always used, or the one that anyone  would expect them to be in, nor the one ebay suggests.  So I changed the category to the same as the sold listings  on a few of them for a test, and wham, one sold within hours and the views shot up on the rest.  I think the changes to the search feature have skewed how things come up when a customer searches.  Clearly my competitors had figured this out long before I did. hopefully my sales pick up on those items.  I plan to go thru the rest of my items and compare the same items that have sold and see what if any category differences I see.  I also had issues with promotions not showing up correctly on my items.  So check your promotions is you have any and make sure the are working. I spent hours on the phone with ebay to get my promotion issue sorted. I even got a refund on my store subscription because of the issue.  You are not imaging this, the issues on the site are real no matter what the cheerleaders say.

Thanks for all that. I mainly list 45 rpm vinyl records, so my category is correct and i've searched some of my listing and they appear where they should.
As for promotions I use markdown manager for "sales" and coupons, and both seem to help with sales... however my overall views seem non-existent.

@thilinius

Customer service cannot offer any help with this issue. They are not employees of ebay and basically have no idea how to list, sell, etc.  They are outsourced over seas, read from scripts and most of the time their responses are false and incorrect.

The poster who wrote this thread is just going to have to get used to it, like the rest of us if they want to continue selling here.  Yes, it's frustrating, but Ebay seldom bends on any of their brilliant new tools and formats.

@james8728

Hang in there.  Perhaps someone from the Kremlin will consider all the issues and do something to make this a better listing experience...but I doubt it.

Happy Selling!

It does appear your promotions show up on your listings. I was doing something similar and it was not showing up on my listings, so customers had no idea I had a coupon running. A complete disaster and took forever to correct.

Your views are no different than they were before; the amount of 'real people' was probably the same as the false giant numbers we were all seeing were only due to bots crawling.

I can click your View Listings above and watch every one of your items without going to the listing.

Have a great day.
