I just PROMOTED ALL of my listings at over 6% and STILL can't find them

I went in and promoted all my listings - most of them just above the "TRENDING RATE"  and after several hours STILL could not find them even on the 3rd page when typing in the first 4 words of the listing heading. Worthless.  I just ended the promotion.

I understand your frustration, but why not just let them run for a week or more?  That way you can watch the dashboard and see how many impressions, clicks and maybe even sales you get on your items.

Hi @cathydale, it can take up to 24 hours for changes like this to take effect. Additionally, when you promote your listings you select an ad rate for visibility that is only charged if a buyer purchases your item from the promoted listing placement in search. If other sellers are promoting similar items to yours at a higher ad rate, then they would receive the promoted listing placement and your items would simply show up as they normally would. If your items would appear higher in search naturally than the promoted listing placement, then your listing would appear organically instead of in a promoted listing slot; for example, if the ad rate you have selected would put your item in a promoted listing slot that is 17th in search results, but your natural placement would be the 12th result in search, you would just appear in the 12th result.

A variety of factors go into determining search placement, and you can read more about how to improve your visibility here: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/listing-tips/optimising-listings-best-match?id=4166

Promoting your listings is a great way to increase visibility, just remember that search results will still be generated based on the search words used and other sellers may be paying a higher premium than you for similar items, so would receive a higher placement in the promoted results.

When I searched Lori Goldstein Cashmere under Best Match, your item was #3 ourt of 457 in the results.

But when I searched Lori Goldstein Cashmere under Price - Lowest, your item was not even in the top 200.

In response to Lucky  - All of my Logo Lori Goldstein items are BRAND NEW - not used so I don't expect them to ever be the lowest priced as are some used ones.

Ironically even if you promote your item at a 100% rate it may not show up due to how eBay seemingly randomly picks the keywords to promote off of.

Also you are better off ending the listing and relisting without the promotion IMO.  You are on the hook for those fees for up to 30 days if they clicked on your listing.  Ending the promotion doesn't end the fee potential.
