When I take a photo of the item for a listing, it shows a blue tint, but that's not the correct colour of the item.
I changed the exposure on my phone (increased the brightness) so I could take pictures of the item with accurate colour.
I want to know If I have permission to do this on ebay? Will it affect my listing or account?

If you are not getting the results you want then of course try the things that you have but also try changing the lighting source all together. Example, I feel that most of my items do not work in natural light, so I use artificial bouncing back and forth between a warmer light or a yellowish lighting source which is usually your typical incandescent light bulbs, and then also using various LED based lighting which can come off blue or whiteish which could also easily negatively affect the way your item shows up in the photo. Hope that helps.

You might want to turn up the brightness option on your camera or even better, take the pictures outdoors in good light, but take the picture on a white background. It's always nice in Sri Lanka. Find a good lighted spot outside, don't add anything else to the photo except the item you're trying to sell. No trees or plants or paint cans etc. Only what your intend to sell.
Good luck and hope this was helpful.

This may be a dumb question @sagari3469, but what color background are you using behind that yarn thing?
It appears to be a blue or purple colored background, because if it was a white background tinted blue by the lighting, then the object would have the same blue tint as the background does. But the yellow of that object looks yellow, not green as it would if the object was tinted blue.
So this may be stating the obvious, but take photos with a different color background and see how that works out for you.

@sagari3469 You are allowed to change the color to fit the closest to the item you are listing. No, you won't get in trouble with eBay. In fact, you want the color to be the best match to the selling item.

I would try different backgrounds.
I keep a yard or two of various solid color fabrics.
I was also told to use a soft gray for a back drop and I have a solid gray flat bed sheet that I will use.
There are times I play too much with the editing and make a simple change worse. 😄 😄
One thing that is nice now, the digital cameras can take so many pictures (and you don't have to have them developed and scanned) 😄 😄

I set up a separate area using white color to take photos of the items. It's completely pure white, I can't figure out why the picture is blue like this. Now I think remove the used LED Light and check this again with yellow LED

It's the colour balance - you need to fix your lighting.

The exposure settings won't achieve what you want, the problem is your White Balance which is a separate setting and needs to be adjusted to compensate for the type of lighting you are using.
