On eBay but ive been behind the scenes of other e-commerce shops... people usually pay me to do all the homework and pricing. I get paid if it sells and I have my own business on etsy But i guess im fresh meat seemingly so i was targeted fast. these things dont seem to happen on snoot etsy so i wasnt sure the angle until a post on here confirmed what it seemed . So their point is to pay through PayPal with a fake payment? Im confused because PayPal backs their transactions too? ..what happened with this sale was A buyer hit me up instantly after i listed something...huh? Its urban vinyls...its not the newest iphone. But they want to text me....? Whatever..."this will be fun, im sure" i thought , but I knew that second my sale fell through. Because i know what feels shady usually ends that way . So Im already noticing her user name and address...
. I seen Shes in Atlanta and I spent many years in savannah so i know the area.. i dont say anything but ask whats up...shes said shes very interested and wants to pay with Paypal. Shes buying it for her cousin...in the states . Haaaaa.
.yep. im sure. But I accept pay pal . So i said "Ok so the address on your account is the one your looking to send it too... Atlanta ga!? ". I didn't hear from her... So i wrote later and said " i do accept pay pal through ebay. So pay through there and just make sure the address is correct because i buy their shipping labels. The Post office in the states is crazy so i prefer using ebay labels (who use the post office..lol but i wanted to play back a little w the same obvious child level standard)". Nothing from her so i sent payment reminders, i waited 4 days and nothing (like im supposed too).. i still feel salty because I told my husband that my dunnys are killing it and selling like hot cakes. Opps. Yea they are not!!!! But im just not sharp with this scammer mind set because thats too much energy to work all the possible dishonest angles...for some 30$ plastic. I got a toddler and all. Im potty training.. I cant do it. Lol

EBay no longer has Paypal as the payment processor for sellers.
Buyers can still use Paypal, but eBay ,like etsy, is using an Ayden product they call Managed Payments.
You need a checking account in a bank in your own country.
You need to present ID. For American residents that is usually their SSN or ITIN. I'm not so I used my Canadian passport.
It would be interesting to know if your etsy account speeds up the approval of your MP account. Keep us informed?
Newbies get hit by a lot of scammers.
And you spotted the "text me" scam.
You can cancel as "problem with address" with no penalty, but you can also just ignore them and if they have not paid after 96 hours eBay will automatically Cancel the transaction, refund any fees to you, and give the scammer a Strike.
You can also go to your Seller Preferences/Buyer Requirements and put an automatic Block on any bidders with Strikes.
EBay defaults newbies into Auctions, which make up less than 15% of sales and have 10 times the Unpaid Item Disputes (UID) as Fixed Price (FP).
As an experienced seller, consider instead using Fixed Price and adding Immediate Payment Required. Your items will list for 30 days or until someone hands over the cash.
A couple of other hints.
With FP you can opt for Best Offer and set parameters for automatic acceptance or rejection.
EBay is very cautious with new (and returning and occasional) sellers. Your customer's payment will be Held for up to 21 days. The sooner you can show Proof of Delivery the sooner the Hold will be released.
Good luck with the potty training. I remember the look of pride when mine got it right!!

BTW-- you have 82 keystrokes FREE to use in your titles -- use them.
And the more Item Specifics you can use, the easier you are to find in Search. Although IS is really aimed at Google searches.
Can you name those Dunny Robots? Is there a catalogue online of them?

eBay no longer takes PayPal. If someone tells you they will pay via Zelle, PayPal or Venmo, more than likely it's a scam.

New sellers are the target, as awareness grows these people go after lower value items where the pickings are easier.
How do they do it? Make it up in volume!
Some of these low value scams may just be looking for victims from which further scamming can be done.

New sellers are targets for scammers, especially those who post auction style listings. Want them to go away?
Avoid auction style listings with best offers and list all you items at a fixed buy it now price with immediate payment required checked off. No best offers either. A flat fixed price will send them on their way. Glad you realized it was a scam. So many do not.

Usually when they say they are buying it for someone else, they try to get you to buy a gift card and send with it.
They'll tell you that they'll pay extra for it and include a little for your troubles.
They want your Pay Pal email so they can send you a fake email saying you had been paid, hoping you would ship the items before you find out you'd been scammed.

"eBay no longer takes PayPal."
from the OP's listing...

Incorrect PayPal can still be used as a payment but it is no longer the sellers financial processor once they have been converted to MP.
