When I get offers, eBay sends me an email that says "BUYER'S FEEDBACK IS 100%!". As if I'm supposed to forget that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a feedback score less than 100%, unless they are a seller as well. Ha ha ha ha ha.

I had one the other day.
A buyer wanted to return an item after the 30 day return had passed.
I declined the return, but there was a message there from eBay,
Why not accept the return and keep your buyer happy.....something along those lines.
It's almost like they want to make you feel guilty for not doing what the buyer wants!

That message might work with some that aren't aware that buyers can only have 100%. But I see your point.

There's a lot of outdated and non-relevant info on the site and in messages.

"Outdated and non-relevant" is not just limited to the site and messages. There are plenty of sellers on this board who seem obsessed with getting and receiving meaningless feedback.

If I sent you an offer on one of my other accounts, I'm curious if it would say 100% or 99.8% if I sent an offer from one of my selling accounts...

Does it take into account only buyer feedback?

Well, when you they go to the feedback screen, they click on the 'As Buyer', and it shows that they have 100% positive. Buyers are good! Sellers are, well, meh.

IMPOSSIBLE ?? Not Correct !! Buyers can have less than a 100% feedback rating . If a buyer doesn't pay in time and a unpaid item case is opened and closed without the buyer paying it goes against their buyer rating !! Tho RARE it is true !! I have a BIDDER right now who has a 99.7% BUYER rating !! I have seen them before so I'm surprised NO one else has !!

Somewhere along the way - that person sold something and it was a less than enjoyable buying experience for their buyer. Buyers only have 100% feedback - UPIs or not.

Not that I see !! No sales JUST purchases !! And they wouldn't be bringing their seller rating to the buyer/bidder area when it shows prior purchases !! Their buyer rating is just that !! AND THAT is 99.7% !! They have a established purchase history .

At least you know they have one transaction in the past year that received feedback. If they had none, their score would be 0%.
More information would be helpful like how may returns they have requested in the past and how many negative feedbacks they have left for sellers that say "arrived one day later than expect" or "just don't like it".

Ebay once sent me a message to play nice with the buyer and finish my peas and carrots... or no dessert.

I'm not surprised that eBay wants sellers to make buyers happy.
I am surprised that you even read those notices.
" If a buyer doesn't pay in time and a unpaid item case is opened and closed without the buyer paying it goes against their buyer rating !! "
The above is NOT true. Unpaid item cases do NOT go on their feedback. eBay keeps track of non-payments for a certain amount of time, maybe a year, then lets them go. There is no sanction whatsoever, no mark that can be seen by any other user.
Successful and experienced seller since 1997, over 70,000 feedback, boardie since the boards were begun.

I came up with another one...
I find it hilarious that, as a buyer, once the sale is complete, and I've received my item, the Big Blue Button(TM) next to the item says "RETURN ITEM". It says "LEAVE FEEDBACK" up until the item is delivered, then it becomes "return item". And yes, it got me today, I meant to leave feedback, and clicked on the Big Blue Button(TM) which started a return. No harm done, but shouldn't "return item" not be the featured button after a sale? As if the default outcome is that something went wrong with the transaction? "Leave feedback" makes more sense to me, why not assume everything went smoothly, and encourage buyers and sellers to leave feedback?

That's it, that's all that was messaged to me. No asking to cancel, no nothing.
I'm not going to cancel, I'm just going to let the auto unpaid process play out. I realize, why? it doesn't matter. Like feedback, it just doesn't matter.
the person my dog thinks I am.
