I have an item that's getting zero views after it's been listed a few days. It surprised me because the price is fair, in my opinion, and it's a rare item. So I searched eBay using every key word I could think of and then just typing my title word for word in mto the search bar. It didn't show up as an item for sale in any of my searches. Can somebody tell me why it's doing this? Thanks in advance.

Just in case anyone has this problem in the future, Ebay is defaulting category in some searches. So if you enter Lauren Shorts 14 it may default to women's pants > shorts even though there may also be shorts in the sporting goods clothing category.
So the short answer is that CATEGORY is much more important now than it was in the past. Always check your categories when you use the search. You may start it out in ALL categories but it doesn't always end up that way.

That is true. I think they started doing that early last year. Now I have to change it every time I search from the default they chose to ALL CATEGORIES which is what I really want~I am not looking for the specific category that it defaults to.
I have seen complaints on this.
