Ebay has done something about this.  There are a couple of new requirements added to the Buyer Requirements you will find in your Site Preferences.  Now I believe they are still rolling this out site wide, but if your account is not yet affected by the new requirements and you have the checked off, it should happen soon.

The new ones are the bottom two items.  But while you are here, make sure you have your other requirements set the way you want them.  For example the first item for Cancellations for non paying buyers.  The strictest setting you can have is 2 in the past 12 months.  That will prevent buyers that have 2 cancellations for non payment in the past 12 month period to be able to even bid on your items.

@awesome_electronics

You may just want to consider selling them outright for a buy it now fixed price.  You're a new seller and a target for scammers & sport bidders.   You know what these items are worth.  Buy it now, immediate payment required & NO best offers.  You are here to make money, not chase it.

Good luck & Happy New Year

I wonder is there a way to block those who use a "freight forward" address. You are in Florida where a lot of "freight forward" goes to other countries.

When I saw those auctions you have...have to admit they are currently very low...but you have a bidder with no feedback(which I would have blocked before the 12 hour auction is up)...and another one with low feedback.

I used to do auctions and let 0 feedback bidders and then block them a day before auction ends.

You got to keep an eye on your auctions...especially yours considering what you have on auction.

And make sure you look on your bidders and see if they have any "retractions" of bids. I saw one bidder last week who had 1265 bids retractions.

It will be interesting to see who wins these 2 auctions.

They are not deadbeats until four days have passed without payment.

You made them wait seven days.

Extend the same courtesy.

Or.

Like over 85% of listings, move to Fixed Price.

Add Immediate Payment Required.

New enhancements, or experiences are rolling out.  They look like glitches.  There are many posts about the "offer" program.  No more auto-billing the buyers or getting auto-paid by buyers who complied with putting up a payment source.   So for "offers" it doesn't matter what your buyer requirement settings are, requiring a payment source upfront does not get you paid faster (if ever) and buyers don't have to pay at all.  Your listing will remain live until somebody (anybody) does pay. It appears there is not much advantage for a seller to keep this preference other than to limit their buyer pool by discouraging paying buyers  who refuse to comply.

As far as auctions are concerned, there is presently not much information shared.  There is supposedly now  a three day delay  to allow time for "combined" shipping arrangements, before the buyer is auto-billed for each ended auction separately.

We don't know if removing the Buyer Requirement that requires an upfront payment source in order for the buyer to proceed has any effect on the auction procedure other than the usual discouraging buyers that do pay and would like the ability to combine items for one shipping price.

Supposedly they will, but you now have to wait 3 days to find out if you get "immediate" payment or not.

If you click on the little "i" in a circle by that setting, you will see that: "Currently, this impacts only a select group of buyers".

Until eBay extends this to all buyers, there is still the possibility of nonpayment for auctions.

They are currently rolling this out site wide.  So it will happen shortly for all sellers.

@mam98031

I have seen those.  The new "enhancement" with regards to offers is not affected by the Buyer Requirements anymore.   No more auto-billing going on if you accept a buyer's offer with the (up front payment method required).  No more instant payment for sellers who retain the preference if they accept a buyer's offer.

Short version:
If a buyer initiates an offer to a seller and the seller accepts, eBay renames the transaction on the seller's side YOU SENT AN OFFER.  The buyer does not see their offer was accepted, but rather gets a message YOU HAVE AN OFFER.  That message has no 'accept' button.  The buyer is free to decline, ignore, or pay without the ability of combine items for one invoice/shipping charges.

The seller can accept as many offers as they like from buyers for the same product listing.  Nobody is required to pay, but the listing will remain live until someone does.  This procedure is in place regardless of the buyer requirements settings, and doesn't do much in the way of buyers who get accepted offers and don't pay.  They can seemingly continue to make offers and not pay as long as they like for there are no more unpaid item strikes involved.

If you can't find the discussions regarding this, I will look for some of them for you.

@mam98031

Though not all Buyer IDs are forced to comply with the buyer requirements for AUCTIONS yet, those that are and do comply will no longer be auto-billed either.  There will be a three day delay so combined shipping could be arranged.  A seller is free to do so, decline, or simply ignore any requests and then auto-billing is supposed to commence if there is no payment by the end of day three.

Since eBay is not providing any details of these new "enhancements"  the information is only gained by sharing information, screen shots, and experiences of the members here.  Not much information about the "auction" aspect yet.  So be sure to stay tuned when sellers start complaining that their buyers were not autobilled with the buyer requirement in place AND the buyer put up that payment source.
