I accidentally marked an item as paid when it was not paid. Now the buyer cannot pay.

There is no way to reverse this. All of the other older threads about this topic give incorrect advice. They say there is a button somewhere (in the seller hub, possibly) to make this as "unpaid" but it is nowhere to be found. Did ebay get rid of this ability?

Please tell me a way to reverse this other than contacting ebay.

So there is no way to reverse the "mark as paid" because ebay takes their fees as soon as you press it.

You have to either cancel the order and then try to get your fees back from ebay, or call ebay directly.

No simple solution.

Go to your All Orders screen
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS

Click on the Down Arrow for that transaction and then click on Mark as Unpaid

That option is not there. Only "mark is shipped" is a similar option.

The buyer says they paid but the payment is not appearing in my payments.

Now what do I do?

Why did you need to mark an item as paid?

Under what circumstances would you need to do that?

I've never done that, ever.

When it's paid, it's paid.

Go back and mark it as unpaid. I believe you can do that in the event of a mistake.

PS Don't be hostile with others here on this forum. People are just trying to help you. Calling people "Dude" is unnecessary, not to mention kinda rude.

I believe the mark as unpaid is only available if it had been manually marked as paid, so it sounds Iike the buyer may have paid. Nothing showing in your payment summary?

Thanks for the response @fern*wood, but I did manually mark it as paid, accidentally.

The buyer says they paid (after i accidentally marked it as paid) but nothing in my payment summary.

Okay the final answer here is that you MUST call ebay. There is no way to reverse the "mark as paid" because ebay is very quick to take their fees once you've done that.

I’m not sure that you are aware, but selling perfume/cologne that is less than 100% full is considered used and against eBay’s Cosmetics policy.
And if you’ve seen others selling products like that doesn’t mean it’s ok.
