I Will never sell to the U.K again

I sold an item on Ebay on May 15, used  Ebay international shipping . Mailed the next morning at 8:09 am

arrived in the U.K  on June 5, my tracking said delivered ' Great' on the 6th of June buyer said they never

received the item, hold was put on funds ,sent tracking number to buyer and it said delivered .

case was closed in my favor, nice. funds were still on hold then released 3 days later. then buyer opened

new case and won. i looked at my bank account on the money was gone. I appealed and lost in 1 day,

I used ebay international ,once it gets to the ebay international hub I am released of my duties  which it did

call ebay 35 times spent 40hr. or more on the phone with the U.S. and the U.K , the Item was 900.00 U.S.

the ebay customer service in the U.S were telling me I had to talk to the customer service in the U.K.

so i did that . I was told by the u.k that i had to come up with a signature for the delivery ?

How do i get that?, was told it was sent to the wrong address , how is this my fault, its the responsibility of the buyer to put

there address in the the buyers box, When you use ebay shipping the address is not to the buyer address it goes to the shipping hub once it gets there they put a new label for final destination. was denied a refund from the U.K. the item still says delivered ! Talking to ebay customer service  is like talking to a wall no help.

Finally got in touch with a guy from the U.K. and was told that ebay screwed up and the money should have never came out of my account  and he would take care of it i would have to wait 7 to 10 days for a manual refund to get my money . 10 Days came and went no money. each time you call ebay you have to start all over again telling them the story over 35 times , was told 4 times  over 30 days i would get a refund , It never happened I sold this item so i could pay my rent for my boat slip,  I lost my 80.000 sail boat ! over the lies from ebay . Thinking the money is on the way still no money !  plus all the time i spent  on the phone 40hrs.

I call and it keeps getting denied why, what did i do wrong, nothing at all

Sorry this happened to you but because of this one incident, this one person, you no longer want to sell to the UK?

What if this buyer was in Rhode Island?

Just a thought...but it might have been a credit card dispute the buyer did...in which case you usually lose and can't fight it. I never had problems selling in the UK.

When I do an International address I use both eBay and my "email buyer paid" on my iPhone . I have notice some of the addresses International do not always match up exactly and have to do a little work. This would especially be true if it was an eBay shipping label. I tend to write my address on a package and have never used an eBay shipping label. Just my own thoughts.

I also had a buyer purchase something today with his name as : "Get it Shipped 747"...as his name. Small purchase so I will take a chance.

You came to a wrong conclusion. It should be I will never use ebay again to sell to UK or internationally.

I get most of my int'l orders from UK and use other available label provider via Asendia USA. Most of them arrive in 7-9 days, with the delivery confirmation. I always print out  the delivery address in big letters and tape it on the parcel. The shipping label may get smudges or damaged. Also take a photo of the package placed on the electronic scale. Packages can be insured via private insurance.

Did you get signature delivery to the EIS center?

To the poster, please contact Ebay on Facebook.  They are knowledgeable.  Once the item was delivered successfully, you did your job.  THE EIS program promises sellers that they will not lose their money as long as the item is delivered to the hub.   Once you click Ebay on Facebook, look for MESSAGE US (OR messenger) . Click that.  Your conversation will be private. None of your friends/family will know that you reached out to ebay.  Give them your name, Ebay ID, ebay ITem #  and your email address .    They should respond within a day or so.

Please come back here and let us know.      As for the signature confirmation,  I wondered about that too but if the item says delivered and then got a new tracking # and shows delivered to the UK,  I don't think that the signature would matter in this case but that is something that ebay needs to clarify.

I quit selling internationally a decade ago. It was not worth the hassle. USA only as I still have the legal system here to work if someone tried to scam me. And yes, I have used it and it does work.

You didn't provide a lot of information about the "second case". I am assuming that it was not an INR this time? Was it an eBay claim or was it a CC/bank chargeback? You shipped this using eBay International Standard Delivery which was a shipping option that was available before most sellers were converted over to the EIS program so you would not have the same seller protections using that method as you would with EIS. It also appears you were not converted to or elected to opt out of. As a side note UK sellers can still purchase your items since you have not excluded that country.

Customer support is useless these days and will tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone. As others suggested use the FB connection. One final note if the items is the one shown below you specify "seller does not accept returns" which does not translate to no refunds. There is more to this story regarding the second claim and it is difficult to determine if you have alternatives and/or options without those details.

If you used eBay's international shipping program you most likely would not have run into these issues.

The names can be a bit confusing, however, if it appears as @dbfolks166mt mentioned you usedeBay's International Standard Delivery. These two programs are different, and one provides A LOT more protection.

Please change your listings to 'No international shipping' and Opt into eBay's international shipping via your shipping preferences.

All you do with this program is ship domestically like you would with any other customer and once it gets to eBay's hub you are done with the transaction (unless the hub rejects it).

This is a MUCH safer way to do international shipping.
