I Surrender to eBay

Still on this matter, how does eBay want me to be stressing myself this much in my  clothing category? Provide them with SSN, provide them with a bank account which they will have access to & fro?  I know we have been making some cash from listing on eBay but I didn't think eBay considered her sellers before making these decisions. eBay reasons of making her decisions and forcing sellers to give out security information is because government is demanding for it. Its quite easy for some sellers to jump out here and be talking as if it is the best policy but I don't view this as a progressive policy.   Its better for eBay to ask sellers to start working for them officially than to hide under a policy which does not guarantee the sellers anything. I will not stress myself again listing individual items for someone to come & sit on. Its the choice of eBay to do whatever they want with their platform.

Switching over to eBay's MP is what the platform is moving to. Please search the post's here as there are many upon many of the same post's. 

There is no way around this, either sign up for MP or do not sell.

Were you ok with PP having this information? if so why now is it so bad to give eBay this information?

No one is claiming it's a "progressive policy". eBay needs it in case they have to issue you a 1099. Talk to your elected representative; see if you can convince them to vote to repeal the anti-money laundering laws.

Well, if you have been a seller any length of time, consider yourself lucky you have benefitted and lasted this long. Be appreciative for the money you have made in the past. 

Because you obviously don't have a lot of business sense or understanding how business/taxes/laws work. Like it or not, you can submit the required information or move on someplace else. eBay doesn't care if you comply or not, it's a requirement to continue to do business here. 

I also own a service business, that requires me to submit a variety of forms in order to do business with certain businesses/entities. You either do as you are required, or you are out. Simple concept. 

Love it or hate it, this is how business works. You are free to run your business however you want, but there ARE CONSEQUENCES.

Switching is not the challenge, the challenge is demanding for such information without any guarantee. Let eBay hire me and guarantee how much I should be making  per year based my capacity to list  items.

You have 2 options.  Provide your SS or leave eBay. You can't pick anything else as there isn't anything else to pick. Door #1 or #2. Real simple.

Providing information is the cost of business.   Business sense means that you understand what is takes to operate in the business world.  You simply have to decide whether you want to comply with the requirements set forth by eBay if you want to continue.  The people who continue selling here have chosen eBay as it is the best and easiest platform in which to sell their items.  The only was to avoid giving your information is to sell through a platform where you accept cash for local pickup.  You can sell on Craigslist and use PayPal but the number of people seeing your listing is very small.  Facebook is an alternative but they will require your information if you ship too.

But that's not how it works - even if we worked for eBay on commission there's no guarantee.

You seem to think that if you were not selling on eBay that the entire platform would erode?

No one is actually here to convince you to stay and sell on eBay.  They are only trying to point out eBay's requirements for participation.  You sell used clothing and accessories which is a very competitive category.  I think you may find it very difficult to find another platform to sell your items that does not require that same information.  Especially if you think there is a chance of selling at the prices you have listed.  eBay provides you an opportunity to sell internationally as well.    Of course you could always build your own website and do all the advertising. Then seek methods to promote your website and drive traffic to it.   I think you may find it very difficult to sell elsewhere.  Craigslist is the garage sale method with a limited audience, and the low ball haggling is the worst.
