I just took down all my listings. Why should I sell anything on here??? All the money I make is simply to turn around and refund scamming buyers making false claims about items not as described. I sell (sold) many phones for parts or repair - not working. I clearly state in the description that they are not receiving a working phone. AS-IS. I cover all the bases. But a few awful buyers have ruined eBay for me. Or maybe eBay has ruined eBay. All a buyer has to do is claim "item not as described", and the seller HAS to refund them.... even after the buyer returned a COMPLETEY DIFFERENT MOTHERBOARD than the one that was shipped. That one sticks out for some reason - plus, it was a $200 transaction. I'm sick of this **bleep** How much can a person take? I'm going to cut myself off before I say something I really shouldn't. I'm just disgusted.

Really sorry. Have been there. Not with a motherboard, but items equally expensive or more. It really does take a toll.

Me too, I'm sorry.. Many of us, in fact FAR TOO MANY of us have been there..
Not much to say or do except that we feel your anger and your frustration..
Really sorry..

It use to be very rare to get these types of buyers (scammers) but now they are so prevalent with eBay support that yes, some sellers can no longer justify the losses, not just monetarily, but emotionally.
It's very draining and leaves us with such disgust that we need to go b4 we get swallowed up by the evil they spew.
Maybe try another venue that does not require 30 day returns and is more on the seller's side.
Good Luck!

I don't know what the heck ebay is planing for, but us small sellers are not part of it and i don't see them changing the direction things are headed, rather i expect them to do other types of adjustments in the wrong area in order to rectify a situation they are unable to comprehend that they themselves created and not something that comes external factors which is where they'll undoubtedly put the blame.

I don't usually click helpful on OP's, but with the MBG this has become a scam buyer's playground and that would be okay if the seller was also given a few toys to play with, but we are left high and dry and either wasting time and effort on useless appeals or just shrugging it off and saying Oh well, these things happen.
A business can usually absorb these losses (to a degree) but an individual is badly hurt by it and that is unacceptable so I fully understand your frustration.
Buyer Beware. My A$$

Hi - Too much evil out there. Ebay apparently has very sophisticated computer programs & computers for use in collecting all they are owed. Would it be that big of a stretch to make programs designed to catch scammers so they only get away with it once at most? The second time they tried, ebay would have to side with the seller. Of course that would be a temporary FVF loss for ebay, but they would make it up later when an honest buyer bought the item. This would also be a big scammer deterrent. Is this possible?

Not really, how do you prove a buyer is lying about INAD if eBay won't accept things like ''original listing'' ''original listing photo's'' against the claims a buyer makes > So how to prove the scam?
The only action eBay seem to take is the 'buyer abuse of returns' but too much damage can be caused by the time it is noticed.
Honestly, I think you could do INAD for a blue truck that was listed as a blue truck - if the buyer say's it is red, then it must be freaking red.
Yeah, this is one of my pet hates as you can no doubt tell

Sorry to hear this all got to you.
Some buyers do not read the descriptions. Others don’t realize there is more to read when using their phones to buy, and the description field requires a click.
Because of this, and the Money Back Guarantee, having a No Return policy is very risky for a seller. So is selling for parts only. As a result, some things are just not suitable to sell on eBay.
Wish you much success and smoother sailing in your next venture.

It's quite obvious, Ebay is planning for small sellers to leave, the MBG for scammers program + many other anti seller policies are taking their toll on many good veteran honest sellers.
For Ebay, Sri Lanka is the future...

There is not a day without multiple similar complaints as yours here on the boards.
There is lots of satisfaction and gratification with visiting the "seller hub" once in while in order to delete cross listed Items sold on other venues.
You should try it too.

I feel your pain! As I stated in a different post, I ended all my listings due to constant bogus buyer issues. One can only be kicked so many times before they say enough!! Fortunately, I didn't have to refund anyone, but one can only hold their breath with each ebay message for so long! So not worth the drama and stress of selling here.
It's pathetic that ebay allows buyers to take advantage of sellers (granted it also works the other way round). At the very least they should stop butchering a seller's listing on the mobile app! It's ridiculous that ebay fails to show a seller's entire text and randomly edits it leaving out vital information. You can't count on a buyer clicking on the 'full description' link or actually scrolling through and enlarging all photos.
If all would follow the 'golden rule' and realize there's a person with feelings, trying to make a living on the other end of that transaction, maybe they'd think twice before filing false claims. Sadly the internet has made sellers faceless/nameless, much easier to be rude and lie when you don't have to look someone in the eye.

I hear you. Just got my first return request under eBay's managed payment system. Selling gold and jewelry is just as risky as buying it on eBay but I tell myself the my many years here and my 100% positive feedback is somewhat of a deterrent. This buyer purchased some gold jewelry, some scrap some not. One piece had some sterling 'on' it and there were a couple small stones in some earrings. I adjusted the total weight and set a below spot starting bid and threw in an extra gram because I want my buyers happy. I'm retired and this is a hobby not a business. The buyer sent me a message claiming that over 90% was gold over silver and she wondered if I had tested them. They weren't worth what she paid. That was it, nothing else. I immediately replied and said I was sorry that she was unhappy and that most of the jewelry was tested with a metal analyzer and a couple pieces with a stone acid test. I didn't repeat that 99% was clearly marked also (which can mean nothing and it's why I test also). I told her to initiate a return and I would give her a full refund. I immediately reported her as a scammer and told eBay I would be filing a feedback revision because this woman was outright lying and thought I would throw some money at her when she claimed it was not real. I told them I can prove it's real if I ever get it back. I said she was going to ding me with an INAD and that wasn't the case. She's an outright scammer or she has buyer's remorse (which they never admit because then they have to pay return shipping). I expect I'll be shy a few pieces when I get it back but maybe not. Her reason for the return? "Doesn't seem authentic". Seriously! I had to call eBay to get insurance on the return which she should have had to pay. I got my report in on her before she started the return so they're looking into her...been on eBay since 2009 but only had a 20 feedback score. Used to be you could fish around and find their other accounts but I couldn't find any. If you even smell a hint of scam in their emails....report them immediately. Better them than you.

Looks like you did not take down all your listings after all!
So you changed your mind?
