Sold an item to a buyer on June 1, 2023. Today (almost three months later). I get this negative review:
"I didn't buy this.it went to someone else how bidded on it."
What should I make of this. This person appears to purchase a lot on Ebay. I looked at their "Reviews Left for Others" page and I am not the first person who has been given a "I didn't purchase this" negative review. Do you think it would be possible to appeal this?

I would definitely request it to be removed, just through the automatic tool at first, then through eBay on Facebook or Twitter if that fails. That's kind of absurd, and seems like they're either a victim of fraud (which should have been reported through the correct methods) or more likely fishing for compensation of some sort, though that's a weird way to do it.

eBay should remove that. Add them to your blocked bidder list too.

Well guys, I think I have the answer and I am an absolute idiot for not checking sooner. I looked at the info too quickly when I clicked on the item information. This buyer won the auction on June 1, and then never paid for it. I cancelled it later using the buyer did not pay option. Wish I had seen that before I left the comment.

They shouldn't have been able to leave any feedback in that case. Definitely ask for that to be removed.

That's what I thought as well. Again, based on some of the feedback they left for other sellers, apparently this isn't their first time doing this.

If you closed it using the buyer did not pay then that should have blocked feedback from ever being left..........

Well as far as Ebay issues go, this has earned a new record for quickest resolution. Ten minutes ago submitted a request to remove feedback. Just got email that said they are removing it. This was a good W after a few weeks of Ls with Ebay.

Glad it worked out for you.
