I AM DONE !

I have been selling here on Ebay since 02-03. I have a good seller rating, I am a powerseller, have good feedback. My sales have tanked big time.

I can no longer afford to make investments to sell on this site any longer.

I feel I have tried everything within my power to make this work for me and my household. Store/no store/ single items, lots.  I look for my own items and can't find them due to the new system. As soon as what I have listed ends I will no longer be here. A sad note for me is thiss is something I really enjoyed. I realize other sites such as Etsy are about the same. Good bye to all fellow Ebayers have met some wonderful folks through the years and much luck to all sellers. I mean this I am not bitter, everything to me is a season my season here is over.

Well you have 18 items listed so please post the ones you say you cannot see and we will find them for you. You may be done and not getting the sell-through you expect but it is not that buyers cannot see them.

Ebay went cheap when the decided to design Sellers Hub and the new catalog and still refuses to buy the necessary equipment to show all listings 24/7/365 which would be beneficial to both Ebay and Sellers alike.

@twnpopcards

That would not be beneficial at all. There is not a buyer in the world that wants to search through 8 million cards. Unfortunately for you your market is over saturatedl. The demand for sports cards has dropped every year for the last 20 years. Your problem is not an Ebay problem; it is a demand and pricing problem as there are only so many buyers for your category out there.

Sorry to see another good seller go because of the changes.  Best regards

Dear  Mr. Lewisburggold:

Good sellers have been leaving for quite some time now because of the changes. The ladies that come to this board complaining about bad sellers will have more of that to look forward to. And then, because of these bad sellers, the good buyers will leave, and all that will be left will be bad sellers and bad buyers. Now whose fault would that be?

Ebay completes more than One Billion transactions daily worldwide.  I think they understand how ecommerce works better than you or I.

Good Luck Selling!

I would think this as well, but it is painfully obvious that it is not true.

Good sellers are NOT a dime-a-dozen, and as eBay continues to alienate and drive them away, seller quality is going down.   Replacing them with noob sellers does not improve quality.  Long time buyers of thousands of items are leaving too, replaced by buyers who want something "fast & free".  Part of that of course is because eBay uses "metrics" to determine seller quality that have little to do with what most buyers consider "quality".

eBay is struggling to maintain single-digit growth while "ecommerce" in general has 20% YOY growth.

There is no double standard.  All sellers have to meet the same seller standard ratings.  Feedback is not even part of the equation, because it is easily misused.

Right.  Seller with 850 non-positive f/b in a year... it's not their fault, those are just 850 "bad buyers"?

All sellers do NOT have to meet the same standard ratings, some "special" ones are exempted, and the standards used are pretty much useless in determining quality anyhow.  Feedback is easily misused, but it is also mostly accurate.   A seller with 33 sales and 2 neg.s may not be a bad seller.  Any seller with 850 non-positive f/b is a lousy seller, unless they've sold 400,000 items.

eBay has told us many times, ALL sellers have to meet the same seller standards.  Why is this so hard to believe?  Are you saying eBay is deliberately lying to its user base?

I can tell you from my experience that about 30% of buyers actually leave feedback and that is based on over 60K transactions.  So based on your theory any buyer who does not leave feedback was a buyer that was not happy enough with there purchase to leave feedback because feedback is mostly accurate.

You sound like you would rather have feedback be a basis for the seller rating?

Agree.  Many folks here seem to think eBay purposely hides their listings.  Just not true.  eBay simply shows the first 10,000 or so most relevant listings.  Not everybody, in a category with 8,000,000 listings can possibly be on top.   If one's listing is 90 seconds from ending, and one searches by ending soonest, one is almost certainly going to see that listing.

I have about 4000 listings in one of my stores.  I have always, when searching with a different ID, been able to find any one I have looked for.

LMAO< if this were true, eBay wouldn't be lagging so badly in growth and performance. Last year AMAZON grew more than all of eBay's total market share. ebay is now 6% of the online market, AMAZON is over 40%.  eBay's stock is DOA, AMAZON has doubled in the last 9 months...(always follow the money)

If you know any eBay affiliates,  ask them how much their earnings have plummeted in the last four years... most are down more than 50% and many more have abandoned the program altogether.  Which is why two years ago they announced anyone with a website could become an affiliate regardless of traffic.

eBay is in trouble..

Just an observation regarding many folks who comment on relative stock prices.

Why does that matter to any of us here?

I just don't see any relevance to my selling experience on eBay, which has been and continues to be very good.   Stock up or down?  Dunno, don't care.

I don't see it as a problem with eBay. There are just too many sellers.

There are  794,000+ brooches on eBay.

There are 2.691 listings for a parrot broach. around 1200 have sold going back to May 17th and including China sellers.

There's just a glut of listings. I blame eBay allowing stuff to be listed for years and years..... Tons of old stale listings blocking people from seeing the new stuff.

In books there are different standards. The mega sellers are not required to provide a photo. This frees them up to dump databases onto the site rather than go listing by listing like the rest of us.

We know how that feels to go through the same problems.

Sorry that you have to leave.

I hope eBay turns around and you can come back to finding success here again some day!

You are of course are not speaking about seller standard ratings.  Actually all sellers have the opportunity to leave things out like UPC where you can say does not apply.  Sellers can use one picture instead of the recommended 3, no description or a well defined description, item specifics or no item specifics.

Your example is just one of many but all of the exclusion come with a price.
