So, after switching 'to' then 'back from' the new listing tool several times, just to make some listings with videos, about a month ago I figured I might as well switch to it and stay there. I did this for a few reasons: We'll supposedly all be forced there eventually anyway, they did improve it somewhat after the initial rollout, and I know I have a habit of not liking something new just because I'm not used to it, but then before I know it, I have new 'muscle memory' and the old way seems awkward and hard. Like when I switched to writing my thoughts on a keyboard instead of with a pen in my hand, or when I switched from PC to Mac, etc.
At this point I think I can say that I have gotten completely used to the NLT. I can certainly create a listing faster than I could at first, when I need to change something I don't have to 'hunt' so hard to find that section or item again, and so on. But earlier tonight I realized I had been on the NLT long enough that I couldn't even really remember what Classic looked like. And I wondered 'what if'. Like what if I switched back at this point, would I find it weird or hard? So I tried it.
GOOD LORD NO, it's not weird or hard, in fact somehow it seems even MORE Fisher Price-easy than before I got so accustomed to the NLT!! It's NOT like going back to writing with a pen, it's like going back to automatic transmission after getting used to a stick shift! Everything you need to do is right there, on ONE page, you can see it all, you can type your own things into the windows when they're not included in the menu options, and then just click outside the box without having to click a stupid + of what you just wrote, as if it were a menu item, there are automatically updated item specifics (which I didn't even realize was missing from the NLT, and forgot how convenient it is!), also the Magic Wand photo feature which I immediately noticed missing on NLT but I forgot what wonders it can actually do for some photos.
Just tons of stuff that is so much more intuitive and FAST, some of which I'm not even stating because it's hard to describe why they seem better, all I know is that getting used to the NLT made only a minimal improvement for me, in how it feels to use it.
And I hope this post doesn't come as too bittersweet to anyone reading who has already lost their choice to switch back. Now I'm just more annoyed than before that it will be forced on everybody.

Be glad you could switch back - I cannot and have been stuck with the clunker listing tool for weeks now.
I want to be in the "zoom" lane, but cannot.

Really interesting and discouraging at the same time.

The new listing page SUCKS! Twice as long to make a listing, because options don't always work, sometimes what I type in the box disappears and I have to re-type, doesn't have major options, requires you to do too many minor options. What a mess. Not fluid, not created by someone who sells. The previous form was fantastic!!!
