I sold a pair of NWT jeans by NYDJ to someone who has received them and has now written me to say:
Yikes! The sequins sit under my butt cheek!whats up with that?
I have an open return policy but don't offer free returns.
The jeans have embellished pockets.
How would you reply to this 'whats up with that?" question? I suspect that she's already removed the tags, or she could have simply opened a return request.
I don't want to tell her to pull her pants up ...however....

What a bizarre question.
I would probably ignore the question (as tempting as it would be answer) and tell them that you are sorry that they is not happy with the fit and you would be happy to accept a return. You could specify that they use 'item doesn't fit' as a reason for the return but of course there is no guarantee that they will do so.

OK that makes sense. I will not let on that her message fills me with SNAD type worries.

Yeah I agree. It sounds like she is complaining about the design of the pants rather than your selling of pants with a design flaw. If it was me I would respond some what light hearted, if you feel the need to respond at all.

Good point, she may have just wanted to vent. I would still suggest that she can return them for refund but maybe add something about how that must be awfully uncomfortable or something along that line. That way, she gets a bit of sympathy and a solution..if that is what she is looking for.

OK - so this was odd.
I wrote back and said I was sorry if the jeans aren't a comfortable fit and gave my usual spiel about returning.
She just wrote back to say that they feel fine and fit great and she likes them and the price was right and that she intends to keep them.
Well, all righty then!

She only needed validation....

I'd be tempted to respond back with:
Yikes! whats up with that?
but that's just me after a rough week

If they're that uncomfortable you can remove the sequins. I would have suggested the same to the first poster's buyer except they're apparently happy with what they got. Go figure.

What would be the best way to remove the sequins?

Some people are just over-sharers. I sold a PVC cyber skirt to someone once, and after she received it she wrote this long email about how it was such a stupid design, looked like a dirndle and she had to redesign it by doing this and this and this. I felt like writing back "Oh, OK." In fact, I think I just said "I'm glad it's working out now. Thanks for your business" or something. ??
Removing the sequins might leave shadows, depending on how the denim was processed. I don't get butt bling to begin with, though.

I just texted someone I know that sews (my aunt) and she said use a seam ripper on the threads securing the sequins. Don't know if that helps you out or not.
