Why do I research & try to describe items?

It’s so frustrating when this junk sells & our stuff just sits. I really don’t understand. I know my pics & descriptions aren’t the best but I really try. I put effort in.

Well at least she was wearing shoes. I've seen more than a few bare feet in listings. Crop your pics, folks.
Nothing says "I care" like throwing your purse on the ground and taking its picture.
We seem to be getting closer and closer to a situation where nobody is responsible for what they did but we are all responsible for what somebody else did. - Thomas Sowell

wrote:I really try, and I do have some listings down to bullet points, but right now I have lots of collector-type things that need over-describing as to the teensiest of issues.
I remember years ago I wrote a desciption that had to be the longest in history for ebay (not counting TOS and all that). It went on forever but it was a Chanel clothing item and it sold fairly quickly for $1500.
Key words: "years ago"
Do you think the shorter description success has something to do with the stinkin' mobile app? Or is it simply that buyers know they can return anything?
I sometimes wonder if a minimal description is bought because it is a SNAD waiting to happen. That way, the buyer doesn't have to pay return shipping.
But of course, a buyer can claim anything is a SNAD anyway, so strike that. I will go with the mobile app theory.

wrote:I just love the doll listings that scream MINT and the poor thing looks like Fido had a tug of war with it, and guess who won? Hair all over the place, clothing wrecked. Clearly in sad shape. I have no idea what drives that designation.
I love when those same sellers come here saying I sent a MINT doll and was perfect when it left my hands; and the buyer says it is worn out and ugly.

Right now it looks like I get more sales with a shorted listing. People seem to have a tolerance of about 2 sentances.
It is not so much about the length of the description but more about all the RULES sellers want in their listings. By having all those RULES it distracts the actual description and things get overlooked.

I am not above it and have on occasions used the terms "Schniizzle Mint" or "Uber Mint". But those listings have always come with 12 detailed photos to back that verbage up! Just trying to make a connection with the younger genration.

I don't like her nasty purse on the bush but her keds with the pink laces are kind of cute.
Looking for those horrible listings is a great way to snag a super deal 🙂

I used to look for misspellings for the good deals. Often accompanied by bad pics and questionable descriptions. I rarely do that anymore and now it's just for the laughs. It's kind of funny and sad all at the same time.
example: search for glass bowels

😂😂
Thsnks for the laugh! Also presumably she’s wearing clothes since she’s outside. That gives her points too. I just thought it was funny. I might buy that purse, not to hurt her but because I feel bad for her. I’ve bought many things just to help people out over the years.

That is just sad. Two sentences are often inadequate.

See that’s what I was thinking. Why isn’t she selling those cute sneakers? I just sent her a message offering help & advice. We will see what happens.
