How to wake up a sleeping item.

It is very easy to have items listed that just seem to do nothing but take your insertian fee every month.  They are burries so far down the list on 15 pages that no matter how good your price and product might be it just cannot be seen.  What are some options?  I understand the criteria eBay uses within its search engine but when an item is overloaded with sellers how do you wake it up.  Push it to the top.  Do you remove it and reinsert it?  Do you play with the price a few cents to fool the search engine?  Is spending money on the Sponsored listings worht the investment?

I am looking for some ideas, why?  January of 2017 eBay did something with there shipping calculator and my rates skyrocketed. This was an app thing and not pricing.  I tried everything to get it under control but could not.  The only way I could get it to resemble my previous listing prices was to remove every listing I had and relist it.  That caused me to lose every thing that listing had going for within the search engines.  What followed was a 30% decrease in sales.  Working my tail off to get that all back has also been hindered by the infestation of drop ship sellers and sellers that use more than one account to sell from.

Try making a small change to the wording of your title. I've heard on these boards that it will bump it up, as the bots see it as new listing.
It seems to have worked with me when i once tried it, gave me some more views and sales.I probably should do it again

Doing some research may help...........on this listing

look up top at the

When you click on that link, it takes you to a product page..........  which are supposed to be all the same item.  On this one, their recommended item is NOT the same, when you click in to the listing it shows 1 tire (which the price certainly reflects).......  that listing shouldn't be on the page at all....  there's a faint gray flag on the far right below the listing........if you click on it, it will report the listing for not belonging there.......and I think your item will end up as the chosen one..

How much this product page is shown and where/when, I don't know.  How many buy from it is unknown.   But there are alot of errors like this one, but you can try to get them corrected it might help...... and it may give you a better idea of how you stand with competitors.........

Buried 15 pages down what "list"?

If you are talking about search results, that would only happen if everyone in the world search using the exact same sort and exact same search terms that you do.

I find that hard to believe. Can you give an example of an item that is never at the top of search results?

Yes the search result list.  When there are 500 listings of the size they get burried.  There are several different styles and manufactures.  Example 13x5.00-6  That tire comes in different brands and different tread styles such as smooth, rib, or turf traction.
