Sellers,
I sell cameras, and a lot of buyers are in Europe and Asia. My strategy to date was to ship USPS First Class International everywhere. This has worked for years for me with a loss rate of about 2% of shipments (in dollar terms, probably twice that). I've not gone to USPS Priority Mail, Express Mail, or the Global Shipping Program because of the high postage that non-USA buyers would see.
Recent experiences make me want to specify the shipping service by country. For example, for France or Japan I would stay with USPS First Class because they are DELCON countries and I will get tracking to the destination. For China or Brazil, I would specify GSP or USPS Express Mail so I would still get tracking, though at a high cost to buyers from those countries.
I know I can specify GSP or not, and block countries completely, but I would like to tailor the shipping service to the country, so that I don't impose high shipping costs needlessly on sales to countries that generally aren't a problem.
I would appreciate hearing inputs from any seller who has implemented something like this.
Mike

You can enable GSP on your listings then apply shipping overrides for countries you will ship direct.
