How to report and block a troll?

For some reason, an odd individual who is not a customer and with whom we have no past history with started bombarding our messaging system out of the blue with harassment and abuse, complaining about pricing, threaten to make false notices against our account, etc. Have no clue why this person targets us (possibly a competitor?).

How do I block them completely? Because they've made no purchases I am unable to report them. I did add this pest on the block buyer list but I don't know how much that will help.

Putting their ID on your BBL will certainly prevent them from escalating the harassment by buying/bidding on any of your items.  If you activate the site preferences option to block communications from members who are on your BBL, it will kick in eventually, though the effect might be delayed by the fact that there is a communication history already.

Blocking communications from another member through the Buyer Requirements/BBL feature will prohibit them from sending messages through an item listing (unless you've had a transaction with them in the last 90 days, IIRC, or there have been messages between the two of you).

The member can still contact you through your seller profile page and/or your feedback page. This is the way eBay intentionally designed the contact protocol to work.
