I sent the wrong item to a customer and he asked eBay for a refund and sent it back. We messaged back and forth and decided he still wants the item so I shipped it to him. Now, I cannot find a place to mark it as "replaced". All I see is "send refund" and - I only have until July 5 to issue that refund. I do not want to report the buyer and I do not want to report an issue - because none of the options eBay offers is a correct option. Any ideas?

The system is not really set up too replace, only to refund.
If your buyer is satisfied with their replacement, you could ask him/her to cancel the return, which would close the case.

So, you tried to combine two transactions into one.
The first transaction should be canceled and refunded.
The second is when he orders again, pays for it, and you shippit.
Don't get fancy with eBay. Do it slow and stupid. One step at a time.

The only option you have is to hope the buyer receives the right item and closes the case before Ebay refunds the buyer

You better hope the item arrives and the buyer closes the case before the deadline. Otherwise a refund will be issued from your proceeds and he buyer will get the replacement and the money.

You handled this incorrectly and it may cost you the item and your money. Hope you have an honest buyer.
