What's the best way to pack a pinata ensuring that it doesn't get damaged when it's shipped? Appreciate any suggestions.

I have to agree with Linty ... Dim Weight is going to hit you hard on these. They may be lightweight, but they are oversized.
The star wars pinata is L 18.35 x W 17.72 x H 6.3 inches (according to the listing)
It will require a box approximately 21 x 20 x 9 (+2" on each side).
They will need to be packed as any fragile item would, preferably double-boxed, with plenty of padding, making sure that the pinata does not shift around and cannot be damaged by normal handling (big drops, bumps, etc)
The outer box will need to be sturdy enough to have a 70. Lb package land on top of it (Priority max weight) ... or even more if you decide to ship UPS or FedEx

Definitely double box with peanuts or filler between the two.

Until you figured it out, I'd kill the listings. Dimensional weight will kick your butt for Priority shipping. A 20x20x8 box will ship at the 17 lb rate for Zones 5 and up. ($27-$51 online rate!!)
I'd imagine a double walled box with a some light padding. Heavy shifting is what'll cause damage.

I would never list such an item here too many things can go wrong.

I would.
First I would put it in a clear plastic bag. Then either bubblewrap or peanuts. The box itself doesn't need to be thick, heavy nor double-boxed. USPS knows that with priority mail shipping they are responsible should the box get damaged--damaging the item. I would make sure there is no room for the item to move around in the box during shipment. Then I would make sure my listings reflected the correct box lengths.

Here's a zone 8 calculation for USPS
1-2 lb package 21x20x9

The USPS also requires things to be packed correctly. They will deny any claim if they deem it had "insufficient packaging"
Priority Mail can weigh up to 70 lbs. What happens when the lightweight box get crushed by something heavy ... or punctured?
Would you ship glass or porcelain like that? Why not?
A pinata is designed to be broken. It really doesn't take much 😞

That can happen to anything. I sell a lot of glass items, none of my boxes are strong enough to withstand 70 lbs of crushing pressure.
If the box is damaged, USPS will pay.

But would you just put your glass items in a plastic bag with peanuts and a flimsy box? Why not?

I pack relative to the weight of the item in the box, and it's durability. I surely have packed glass in peanuts and a flimsy box, thousands of times. Usually bubblewrap because peanuts are expensive, but that's neither here nor there.

So, nobody's gonna say pack it with penny candy and toys?

1st off get a box it can fit as cose to a fiting new box that gold and close it.
then take that box put shiping peanuts in floor so you a base made up then place the item in the box. Be sure rep it 3 times around the hole thing in bubble rap.then bill the remaining space then fill with shiping peanuts and seal it off. Be sure to put sickers hanndle with care all around boxes. lable on top.
