I've been an eBay member as an occasional buyer.
- I want to sell a $2k+ professional HD camecorder with accessories for local pickup, cash only.
- Ditto for a full set of professional studio lights in the same price range.
( I tried to list both as auctions but scammer tried "Buy-it-Now" and eBay cancelled the sale (thanks eBay) and then I pulled the auction for the lights.)
- Next I tried to relist as local pickup, cash only but ended up somehow as a fixed price listing and can't seem to find out how to convert back to an auction. (I was able to move the "start date" out so it is not online yet.)
- Now I'm thinking Fixed Price with Make Offer option but can't see that when I go to edit the "fixed price" listing...
Question 1: is "Make Offer" available for fixed price sale in camers?
Question 2: Would I be better off with a 7 or 10 day auction for local pickup, cash only or what?
Question 3: How much will eBay charge me for either the auction or the Fixed Price?
Question 4: How I convert a fixed price to an auction and/or fixed price with make offer option?
Sorry for asking but I've clicked and clicked and read and read until my eyes have rolled back in my head... so hopefully some kind soul will just tell me what's what 🙂
Thanks for any help.

You cannot change a FP listing to an auction.
You can end it and start over even if it's not live yet.

Maybe you are using the quick listing tool that has limited options.
Look at the upper right corner of the page and click on switch to advanced tool.

Yes, it is.
Question 2: Would I be better off with a 7 or 10 day auction for local pickup, cash only or what?
Fixed price, local pickup, cash on pickup.
I highly recommend re-reading your last thread on this topic for more advice.
Question 3: How much will eBay charge me for either the auction or the Fixed Price?
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html
Question 4: How I convert a fixed price to an auction and/or fixed price with make offer option?
You cannot. A listing is either fixed price or auction and cannot be changed from one to the other.
An auction can have BIN added, but I would not recommend using an auction in your case.

IMO if you are asking those questions you are not ready to sell items with high prices. If you want local pickup best to find a local FB group or CL and advertise there. I think if you offer local pickup you can request cash on pickup but you do have to include a PayPal option. Then you still run the risk of a chargeback down the road. Depending upon your location I would list with fixed price for the amount you want. Auction listing with local pickup might get you some added views but views here do not mean sales. All the best to you.

There's a lot of caveat's with your situation, the biggest being is you lacking experience. I would try and sell it elsewhere before diving into the depths of eBay. To answer your question, all those things are easy to do. Most listings are free on eBay for the first 50 items a month, then my rule I use is ~ 15% goes to the house (~10% for eBay and 5% for PayPal). You might try a pawn shop or CL. Good Luck.

OK, thanks everybody for your response, tips, and help.
I've done quite a bit of sales on Craigslist over the years so I'm unsure what the risk is for Fixed Price or Fixed Price/Make Offer as long as it is local pickup.
One remaining question is since I'm forced to list the PayPal option must I then accecpt PayPal if the buyer insist or can I still require cast on deleviery?
PS - I wanted to eBay this to get a larger regional audience as I think some would drive 100 to 150 miles to pick up these items. Since this is really pro gear the local audience exist but is limited.
Thanks again for the help.

If you were to list on eBay, you would want to list fixed price with immediate payment required, that way anyone that purchases your item would have to pay before the item goes into eBay limbo with non-payment.
EBay always gets their money even if you don't, so if the item is $2000, eBay is going to charge you $200, PayPal will charge you $100 as soon as they pay (these are round numbers I always use, 10% for eBay, 5% for PayPal). If you don't use immediate payment required, you'll come across a lot of dead beat buyers. You can't force a buyer on eBay to pay cash on pickup, any smart buyer would use PayPal even with pickup. Have I gotten cash? Sure, but it's just pure luck because you have to list with PayPal (or a merchant account).
No matter what, you really can't use that money for at least 180 days, maybe longer. I posted (on this id) back in Nov 2016 how to fight and win a SNAD case. That is going to be one of your biggest problems on eBay and PayPal (that and along with fake PayPal payments). If you don't ship it, you have no proof of delivery, that may be an issue too. I can go on, but I think you get my drift. Good Luck.

...On second thought guess I'll research first as maybe there is a professional video equipment website with classified ads frequented by professionals or professional startups.
I've sold high end ham radio gear through interest specific sites before so there must be something for pro video gear.
Thanks for the help folks.
Ham radio people are generally older and honest people. I think a different crowd might look at this stuff. Do some research on SNAD and then decide. I think you'll find a home for the stuff.

Too complicated. Sadly I'll have to find another way to sell my stuff rather than eBay.
Thanks for the help folks.
