How to keep listings active without a store

I would like to close my ebay store to avoid the monthly fee since I have not made any sale in 4 months. but I would like to keep my listings available without being in a store format.

What are my optins? How can I get the lowest fee per item and still keep it active such that I only pay a fee once an item sells?

I can certainly understand the decision to CLOSE a store if you haven't been making sales!  Regardless of whether you sell here or out of a shop on mainstreet USA, if you can't pay the rent it's time to end that!

What you might do is to open four accounts that are the simple 50-free-listings per month FREE accounts, and divide up your merchandise to fill those accounts.  Looks like you have about the right amount of listings to do that.

Then, if you don't want to babysit the listings all the time, you can list everything GTC .. Good 'Til Cancelled.. and then go your merry way.  Just don't forget to take a moment each day to see if you DO have sales to get out!  Good luck.

You simply close your store. There is no 'store format' listings. They are either fixed price or auctions. They won't end when you close your store. Once you close your store (it will stay open until the end of the billing cycle), you simply revert back to a non-store account with 50 free listings. If you have over 50 items listed, you pay. There is no 'lowest fee per item'. You get 50 and pay for the rest. So you either figure out which of your stuff might sell or you hope for a listing promotions.

The bigger issue is that if you haven't sold anything in 4 months, are your items suitable for eBay? What changes have you made? Are you listing new stuff? Are your prices competitive? There are more things to consider than just closing your store. What is the point of even listing 50 for free when you're just ending up with no sales and lost time?

Good luck with your decision.

Whether you keep your store or not you need to look at your pricing (hint it's high for your category) and how to improve your placement in search.  I put in Dog Bandana and went 5 pages without seeing any of your items.

If you have a store with an annual contract, then you may have to pay early cancellation fees. If you have a monthly contract, then you can cancel anytime and just be billed the current month.

When I looked at a couple of your listings at the HTML level, I noticed that your descriptions have comments in the code that are from a third party listing tool called InkFrog. Are you using InkFrog or just using their free tools? Or did you cancel InkFrog subscription because of cost?

On on another note, when I view your listings on an Apple iPad in the Safari browser, the description has an issue where it does not end but scrolls down with a lot of white space for many screens.  I see the same issue in my FireFox and Chrome browsers. Perhaps you have an issue with your listing causing you to have poor sales.

@shipscript  can you check if there are issues with the OP listing descriptions?

I looked at listing 222420609257 for example that has a description that goes on and with white spaces.

It makes no sense at all for you to have a Store subscription, given your level of sales.

To avoid listing fees, you must cut back to 50 listings.  Choose the ones that you think are most likely to sell, or which are potentially the most profitable, and end all the others before they roll over.

An eBay store subscription is nothing more than paying a fee to lower your rates, just like paying points to reduce the frate of a mortgage.  It is simpyl a matter of doing the math to find out the cheapest option.

If your account does not have a store subscription, you will pay 30 cents per listing per month after using up your 50 free listings.

We cannot really tell you what is the cheapest method unless you tell us how many listings you want to keep active, and how much work you are willing to do to lower your costs.

For instance, you have 195 listings active right now.  Without a store subscription, those 195 listings would cost you $43.40 (145 x 30 cents) per month if they are listed under a single account. That is probably well above the lowest tier store subscription.

As others have suggested, you could start four selling accounts and put 50 listings on each - that would not cost you anything per month, but you would have to do a lot of work to transfer those listings to the other accounts,  and you would have to maintain 4 accounts going forward.

But if you have not had a sale in four months, you might want to reconsider the value of continuing here.

Hi Teddibubbles,
Thank you for your help and advice. You have mentioned four points.
1. Fast and free shipping icon. How do I get that on my listings?
2. Upper case letters for title. Is this something you suggest?
3. Re the product itself, I cannot change it since I do not manufacture it.
4. I do not understand what you have written below. Please explain.
the number on your shipping paper the tracking.. post every one FAST FAST FAST,, like that day or next if you can.
