Probably answered alot, but I sold something recently a little over $200 and delivery with signature was attempted on June 3rd. UPS then had it go to an access point and available for customer pickup since the 4th. Tracking shows it hasn't been signed for yet. I figured it would have been picked up by now and am worried the customer may not want it anymore, but got no indication of that and no communication from them. Totally understand life, work, and the possible unknown that may prevent a quick pickup.
How long do you think it would be before UPS may send it back to me. Will I get charged return shipping? If I don't offer returns (yes, I understand no returns doesn't mean no refunds), but can I deduct the shipping charges if I do process a refund? Restocking fee? How would you handle this one?
Kind of wish I didn't require signature since it would have shown delivered and INR would not apply if the buyer tried that.
Hopefully they just pick it up soon and all is well.

@caseypl ^^^ This.
Unless the buyer knew you were going to request a signature, you can't really blame the buyer. I don't ship via UPS, so can't address your 'return to you' issue... but you can file a package intercept (that will cost you) to get the item back to you.
I don't see being able to make a reduction on the refund, though, due to your shipping method. Dang...

If you were willing to spend $2 more in shipping you should have checked the box that said "Direct Delivery Only" if you purchased the label online - Checking that means that the receiver or UPS cannot make address changes or access point deliveries without your consent - NEVER should you not check that box when selling online.
Also, I assume you did not purchase the label through ebay, because I'm pretty sure "Direct Delivery" is standard on all ebay UPS Labels.
You should expect about a week of it sitting at the access point, and 5 working days once it gets back to the sort facility before it is sent back to you unless you create a return to shipper(RTS) delivery change request.

I purchased through Ebay. I believe I checked the direct signature required

Once delivery has been attempted, and that appears on the tracking, an Item Not Received claim becomes invalidated.
I understand how a signature required might give some added seller peace of mind, but it is not really necessary as the buyer must provide a safe place for package delivery. It does not grant any additional protection in eBay’s eyes and can create an inconvenience for the buyer.

HI!
Every month I receive my high dollar meds from UPS. The will come back the next day if it is marked signature. They leave a sticky note at my door. UPS is pretty good here about coming back.
