This is going to be a long post ... bear with me 🙂

Write good titles

[Brand] [Model] [object] [Size] [Color]

Avoid overblown words "Perfect","Mint","Rare", etc

Be honest in your condition descriptions. List all flaws and dings. Again, leave opinions and overblown words out of it. Facts only.

Use your Item Specifics.

Fill in the ones that eBay wants and add your own.

Measurements, measurements, measurements.

Give complete descriptions.

Tell buyers exactly what they are getting.

Put your buyer hat on and figure out what information you would want to have in order to make an instant decision to buy. Don't make buyers ask for basic information.

Take good pictures from all sides of the item. Give closeups of any dings and flaws.

Ship on time, using the method stated in the listing.

Be polite and professional in any and all communications with buyers. Even if (especially if) the buyer is not.

Price your items correctly. Research what the item has sold for in the past. Don't base your pricing on active listings ... You can LIST an Item at any price you want, but what it will SELL for is a different ballgame.

Learn this: "We are sorry that you are unhappy. Please return the item for a full refund"

---

Only about 40% of buyers leave feedback. Don't sweat it if a buyer doesn't ... and don't ask for it if they haven't left any. No news is good news.

If you sell a good product at a good price and give good Customer Service, the feedback will come.

And always remember ... even if this is only a hobby ... this is business. There is nothing personal in business. Leave emotional attachment and reactions out of it.

---

As a new seller ... I would suggest that you familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures for selling. Start at "Getting Started" on this page:

https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/index.html

And familiarize yourself with your obligations as a seller under the MBG:

Re: How to get good feedback?

I forgot one important thing:

Inventory Control.

Know what you have on hand and know where it is.

Keep a spreadsheet, or even just a notebook, so that you can find the item quickly when it sells.

Store things securely so that they don't get damaged in storage.

Seller initiated Cancellations will kill your account ... both by feedback and by Seller Standards defects.
