How to erase/delete ebay's suggested comments

My buyer says seh refuses to leave feedback because suggested comments pop up in the comments section (after choosing positive or negative feedback).  I had the same experience but can't remember how I got rid of ebay's inappropriate comment in order to write my own (when I left feedback for her payment).  I'd like to instruct her.  Do we simply write over the suggestion? Or do we have to actually delete it, to write our own? Thanks!

They go away when you type in your own comment.

That entire comment goes away the moment you put in 1 letter. 

I'm not sure you can even 'send it in' that way or what the comment would look like if you did.

There's a Reply in a different thread on this same subject that suggested you should click into the comment field and type your comment before choosing positive or negative.  I don't have anything waiting for feedback, so I can't test this myself.
