Hi all.. I've spotted a seller listing bogus micro sd cards. Listing says they're 1024 GB for around $50 which is absolutely unquestionably fraudulent. When I click the report item link, none of the listed options fits my complaint and I can find no way to enter a free-form description of what is wrong. Seller has sold over a hundred of these fakes and has excellent FB. But the problem is, the card reports 1024 GB available so the buyer thinks it' all good and posts +FB. Buyer won't discover the fraud unless he/she writes more than about 32 GB to the card when the writes "warp-around" and start overwriting previously saved files. So the unsuspecting buyer is unlikely to figure that out within the allowable SNAD window.
How can I report this dirt bag and give a free-form description?
thanks......

Your report will do nothing. Only people who ebay will even consider are those purchasing from him. If he is selling fakes, then they need to do snad returns. Enough of those and that will affect his account.
Ebay will just consider you a disgruntled competitor or since you do not have the item in hand wonder how you can make that determination.

In my observation, eBay cares about two things: (1) getting sales while (2) not getting sued by manufacturers or violating laws. So, as long as the product this buyer is selling is not violating some law or manufacturer copyright, then eBay is quite pleased to take their commission on every sale.
If you buy one and find it to be defective, you can always leave feedback to warn other potential buyers.

Are they being sold as a brand and not generic or unbranded? If so, report them to the brand. It's up to them to contact Ebay and have them pulled if they (the brand) believes them to be fake. That's the only way Ebay will pull a live listing for suspicion of being counterfeit- they have to be contacted by the rights holder.

Sadly, you are right. I've been on eBay since 1998 so I know that eBay doesn't give a fig these days -- and really never did for that matter. The fact that their lame reporting tool offers only canned choices likely drafted by their legal team further confirms that.
No, I did not buy one, I know better. Just **bleep** me off, that's all.
Thanks for the replies, all.
edit to add: **bleep**?? seriously? That's one sensitive filter. I didn't curse or anything. Sheesh, how things have changed in 20 years. sad...

There is only about one thing to do is just hit the back button and move along.

Sometimes it is difficult to find the right categorization. If you still wish to report, you might try the following: Click “Report Item” then 1) listing practices 2) fraudulent listing practice 3) you suspect the listing is fraudulent.
and then the field for details comes up.

Thanks for the warning.

Yep I've seen this scam too. Ticks me off. I've even seen these being sold on the river, except there I guess the customers are smart enough to give a bad rating to warn buyers? Not sure. I would think eventually it would catch up to them, but by then they've probably made so much money they don't care.
It is especially frustrating when trying to shop around to find the best price on a legitimate flash drive and you come across these ridiculous fakes that people fall for.
