As the title suggests, I have more than 12 images I'd like to add to my eBay listing.
I've uploaded my images to dropbox and have been attempting to add the image links as html code in my listing description using this: <img src="https...etc..."> and whenever I preview the listing, it simply shows a broken image.
Do I need to use a different image hosting site? Different html code? Not possible anymore?
Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!

Most of the free hosting sites no longer allow hot-linking images, the same sites do if you have a paid account.
The best way to do this is to get your own webspace (and an SSL cert.) then you can do whatever you want.
There are low cost hosting packages available for about $5/month.

Whenever I have to use more than 12 images that eBay gives me, I will double up a few of them on one image. For example, if I need to have 16 images for a certain listing, on my photo editing software I will take one shot with a blank background and then copy/paste several different shots, lets say 2 at a time, onto 4 different such blank background images that are sitting in my photo editor. Then I have 16 shots in the 12 allotted pictures that eBay gives me which I can upload to eBay's listing form. If it's not clear what I'm trying to say it's the same thing you will often see when a coin dealer is putting both the obverse and reverse image of the coin in one image.

^^^^ I agree with @adkhighker's suggestion, for one big reason that splitting your photos between the photo area and description is also splitting your content, and you want to be sure that your public sees all of the photos together. Also, there's the issue of mobile viewing - although I didn't have problems with photos translating well into mobile (I used to have one at the top of my descriptions), I also had my template already set up to be viewable.
