How to do research without getting an offer from seller.

I find it frustrating when researching for an item I want to list and then almost immediately receive an offer from the seller.  How can you avoid that?  Or is it not possible?

I admit I’m probably not as experienced as some, as I have limited time, etc., but I didn’t see a way to decline the offer..

Again, why not just ignore those offers?

You don't have to decline offers.  They expire automatically 48 hours after they're sent.

I believe that if you click on it you will be provided the option to decline.

@cva1932

I do the courtesy of declining when I get such offers. The reason. I think that if offers sent are still open that the seller can not do revisions on the listing.

Also to add to other replies, it seems that if a seller has a listing with "offers", even when they do not send it to you, eBay might, just because you were in the area. I know something along those lines was happening. When it is from eBay, there may not be an option to decline, because it is not an "official offer".
