Hello, we have next fantastic experience on ebay.
We are illegally but with full ebay acceptance robbed for amount of 499$ !
How to do that (based on our case), you should buy something form buyer, my propose expensive unit.
When will be delivered wait for ~2-3 months and open "Payment dispute" with "Reason :The item doesn't match the description in your listing", As seller in this dispute you will not find any additional info or photos.
As seler we have 2 options in this Payment dispute:
- agree and refund
- provide additional details in one file which will be send to the buyer's payment institution, there is no option to add any message.
What we should attach as dispute rebuttal - nobody knows.
As buyer do not answer on anny message from seller (we try to ask about this case - without any respond).
Unit was new in original box so ater allmost 3 months our buyer decided to open dispute about this unit without any file or message to us with explanations.
Once again - god job ebay, this will help sellers as hell to provide high quality service.
By the way: we was few times robbed on returned unit with removed warranty labels, missing parts etc.
We of course make video from unpacking but ebay customer support are blind on such proof.
Regards and sorry for my poor english.

your English is fine. I wish I could speak Spanish fluently as we travel the Caribbean and Mexico a few times a year.
Anyhow. There is not much you can do about a chargeback. The kicker to this is that if you fight the case you will be charged an additional $20.00 by E bay.

eBay can't stop a buyer from returning something in worse condition. Top Rated U.S. Sellers get to deduct up to 50% from their refund when that happens.
Otherwise, eBay tells us we have to suck it up, bad buyers happen.

That policy is no longer limited to Top Rated U.S. Sellers. It's been expanded to include any seller who offers free returns and is not Below Standard.

Even that isn't as easy as it sounds, not to rain on the parade but...
Refund deduction guidelines table
Condition of return | Refund deduction guidance |
Excellent condition:
No deductions
Good condition:
5%–10% deduction
Fair condition:
15%–30% deduction
Poor condition:
35%–50% deduction
Lets just say, I suddenly understood the importance of certain certificates.

Just posting a general comment .......
When a buyer bypasses the eBay claim system and goes directly for a SNAD chargeback (aka PAYMENT DISPUTE) as the case with the OP, none of this up to 50% deduction for a faulty return applies. A return is not required for the buyer to get a full refund from your proceeds..... this is one of those where the seller will get hosed and be given one of the usual eBay excuse variations:
ebay has no control
it is the credit card company and nothing we can do
once the financial institution has made their decision, we comply with it.

Ebay doesnt charge that fee, the credit card company does for a chargeback filed to the seller. They all do.

Because you have "no returns" customer only has 2 ways to get their money back.
EBAY Money Back Guarantee (supersedes your "no returns policy") by claiming "not as described" (you are forced to give refund) plus shipping BOTH ways. EBAY does NOT require customer to prove their claim. EBAY only looks at return tracking# (not what is inside box).
Or if a couple months have passed customer can "reverse credit card payment" (keep item and your money). Credit card always rules in favor of customer. EBAY has no authority over the credit card company.
Many sellers have experienced your same problem....it is very frustrated and hard to run a business. Only thing you can do is "raise your prices" to cover your losses.
