I had a purchase go through late friday for some toys to a 0 feedback buyer. I get a an EMAIL to my personal /paypal email address Saturday asking for a refund for the purchase. I responded and let them know that if they'd like to cancel the transaction they would have to contact me through the ebay messaging system to ask for the cancellation and I would have no problem cancelling the order (I as well messaged them through the ebay system saying I recieved their email and to please request the cancellation through the ebay system).
Next day (Yesterday) I get a response via EMAIL saying their daughter placed the order and they don't have access to the account she purchased it from .
I feel like i'm going to get screwed no matter what I do in this situation. I don't want to cancel it without it being shown it was requested in my ebay messages. Do I just ship it out anyway?
Any advice would be appreciated.

However, if they can't access ebay or call Paypal, they will likely go straight to the credit card for a chargeback. That would be just more grief and another $20 down the tubes for the OP.
I have C&P email content into ebay messages in the past, letting someone know I had gotten their email, but want to keep to ebay's system for papertrail purposes.
Paypal eats unauthorized transaction chargebacks if the tracking shows delivered to the paypal address.
Happens all the time and is the easiest of cases to win, you don't even do anything but upload the tracking.
Plus we don't know if the buyer paid with a credit card or paypal balance.
Up to the seller of course. $10 might not be worth waiting for the paypal case to open and close but...$100, I'd probably go through the effort.
I don't even read ebay & paypal emails, I would suggest to not and go straight to the websites to get any information or messages. Too easy for scammers to spoof.

For an unauthorized use chargeback, you need proof of shipment not proof of delivery. OP should either cancel (evidence suggests that eBay is NOT awarding defects if the seller doesn’t have a message from the buyer) or ship.

I've won every case with simple tracking uploaded into the case...even asks you to do it.

Yes thats standard procedure. The tracking is your proof of shipment, you win an UA chargeback whether the item was delivered or not 🙂
