I was reading some other post but I can not figure it out. The other post mention sending an invoice. I know that I have called eBay and they told me to do that in the past but I can not find it. It might also be different since I am on managed payments now.

Sorry, but I'm missing the link between your title and the body of your post. Are you trying to send an invoice that subtracts the shipping cost?

In this day and age I wouldn't do it unless you already had the auction set up that way. Do you really want to meet up with someone, a stranger, in person during a pandemic? If they are asking you to do something extraordinary then maybe they should cancel the purchase or request that the sale be cancelled.

Having written that and advising that you don't let the customer dictate local pick up this is how I handle this type of request. I print the label as it is set up and mail an envelope with a copy of the invoice to the address provided by ebay. This keeps the delivery on record with the tracking number showing the completion of the delivery. I also charge an extra $10 for my trouble in meeting someone to hand over a sold item. If the buyer doesn't want to pay $10 to meet me in person I end the conversation and ship the item as needed.

Then you can decide how to have the customer meet you in a public space, perhaps at a police department for safety reasons, and set the box down while they stand at least ten feet away downwind from you and walk away. If you want to let the buyer look it over for a minute and chat from a distance of at least ten feet so be it. Many of us are craving some human in person non-contact conversation with spatial distancing because we haven't got enough of that at the grocery store and or pharmacy lines.

Here's the problem. What if you are being scammed by someone who hacked the buyers information? This is a real thing if you didn't know. While we know men are generally scum on-line there are hundreds of thousands of women who actually are tech savvy criminals ripping people off anyway they can. Let me make you more paranoid. Once you meet the buyer in person they more than likely will know what you drive and have your license plate number. Once they have your vehicle plate info .........

Back to my first sentence. I wouldn't do it unless I had already set up local pick up as an option for very large or heavy items.

could be a setup... either for fraud, claiming they never received it, or a physical confrontation...

None of your recent sales are either scam-worthy or charge for Shipping (I see Free Shipping on all your sold items), so I'm not sure why you need to send an invoice anyway. You can exchange contact info after the sale, so I would have the buyer pay first, then let him know where and when you want to meet.

If you're still concerned about the buyer filing an Item Not Received dispute (which, again, seems unlikely in your specific case), you can mail him a receipt in a padded envelope that's thick enough to qualify for tracking. However, again, when meeting the guy in person, I don't see a security risk with any of your recent sales. (There's also a means of generating a pickup code that acts as proof of pickup, though I'm not sure of the details on that.)

In future, though, I would suggest not trying to changes horses in mid-stream with the delivery method(s). If it's best sold as a Local Pickup, then list it as a Local Pickup only. Otherwise, since you're offering Free Shipping anyway, stick with your plan to ship the item.
