How is everyone and their sales doing? Mine is doing alright. Just had a question. Why do people just watch and watch and watch stuff without buying?!? Like either buy it or leave it... i get sick of the stuff i have had for months being watched and no one will buy it but watch count shoots really high!! Who's with me? Lol

@route66thrift
I think a lot of watchers are other sellers watching to see if the item sells and what price it sells..

I wouldn't care if they did away with the watch column. Waste of space. I don't care about watchers, I need buyers!

Watching doesn't mean buying! I even tried turning that column off one time but my curiousity was killing me! I have been letting my watched items end without relisting and no one has ever contacted me to see if the item was still available. Some of us receive emails from eBay showing our items that are being watched and suggesting that we lower our price by 5% and eBay will send the potential buyer an email notification. None of those attempts ever converted to a sale for me. Regarding the question of how I am doing, something has changed for some of me. I am speaking only for myself. I am a small seller and had a good first quarter by my standards. Everthing essentially stopped around April 1st. Whether or not an item sold or even was watched, I always had double digit views. Now it is down to 0, 1, 2, etc. April is not typically a slow month for me, however, I only had 7 small sells. My prices are low, 100% positive feedback, TRS + (for now), etc. Now having said all this, I love eBay. I love to buy and sell on eBay. When I need something, eBay is the first place I look. If your sells have remained steady, that's great, but for at least for me, something has changed and all I can see is the downturn in number of views. Good luck to all of you!

DJ

I'm guilty of watching items as a seller. But I also have listings with a lot of watchers and no buyers that have been that way for a long, long time. I've learned to basically ignore the watch count so they don't bother me.

I'm doing alright actually.
There were a few items I relisted and probably the same watchers are watching my items.
A few of those items just sat around for months until the right buyer came along and bought them.
I had second thoughts about relisting those items and almost just gave them away.
Those buyers that "watch" items are comparing prices, hope you lower your price, not sure, etc.

My sales have been WELL below the norm for far too long now - as for the "watching" - as a seller I do that all the time if I have the same or similar type item - gives me an idea of what to expect for my own item, sort of "research" 🙂

Sales are down for us 39% as of today. All those watchers are your competition. Glad to hear doing good though. Best regards
