I sold an electronic item for $250. The item was delivered a few days ago. I messaged the buyer 2x asking how the item was and to make sure nothing broke etc while traveling in the mail. He has not responded. Or left any feedback. The item belonged to my daughter and i want to give her the funds but i dont want to trasfer the money just in case he does come back and has any type of complaint. How long from the delivery date does he have to request a return.

Never, never poke the bear by contacting a buyer asking about item.
Believe me if there is a problem he will contact you.
And do know with some cards like AMEX, you have up to a year to do a chargeback.

Hi, the buyer has 30 days from delivery (or from last estimated delivery for Items Not Rec'd) with the Ebay Money Back Guarantee. With PayPal Buyer Protection, the customer has 180 days from the date of payment.

I know you are anxious to give your daughter the proceeds, but i agree with the other posters. Generally speaking it is not a good idea to contact the buyer to ask if everything is ok, and if you must, once is enough.

eBay MBG is 30 days from Delivery or Last Estimated Delivery
PayPal Buyer Protection is 180 Days from Payment
Credit Cards are all different, most give 6-12 Months with exceptions "at their discretion"
Buyers can leave feedback up to 60 days after purchase
As others have said ... don't poke the bear.
My feedback rate is at about 40% left by buyers ... some buyers just don't leave it and some just think "meh" and don't bother if the transaction was not up to par. By pestering the buyer, you may just get the feedback that they didn't want to leave 😞
Trust us ... if something is wrong, you will know it soon enough (or 180 days from now).
At least wait the 30 day MBG out before paying your daughter ... after that the risk is still there, but lessened somewhat.

DO NOT message the buyer again. It would have been better if you had not messaged at all. IF there is a problem, rest assured, the buyer WILL let you know. There is no need to open that can of worms if you don't have to.
There is an old Board saying, never poke the sleeping bear.
Ebay case deadlines is 30 days after delivery; Paypal is 180 days.
A credit card company can be 180 days or a year or more.
Your call.
