How long do I have to Wait for buyer response

I sold an item it was delivered 4/8/21 and the buyer is stating the item is not the same as in my post  She stated she was going to write a negative review which is her choice  and I don't appreciate being threatened with a bad review but I totally disagree with her as her pictures are the ones that look  different than mine She stopped just short of  saying I switched items!! I responded immediately 4/8/21 with pictures of my own, offered to submit them to eBay and offered her a refund if she wasn't satisfied. She responded once again 4/9/21  that she wasn't accusing me of a switch but she thought the item looked different I AGAIN offered her a refund for the second time 4/9/21 ! My question is how long do I have to wait for her to respond before this can be put to rest It is now 4/12/21 and I have heard nothing

Re: How long do I have to Wait for buyer response

The basic advice is No Refunds without Return.

Tell her to send it back for a full refund.

If she wants a partial refund, tell her to send it back for a full refund.

If she threatens negative feedback, tell her to send it back for a full refund.

  • eBay does not use feedback to assess member accounts, so this is an empty threat
  • eBay does use Feedback Extortion to assess member accounts, and will remove any negs and take action against the extorter

If she threatens to open a Not As Described case, tell her that she should  and that she should send it back for a full refund.

  • Scammers won't do this because they don't want to draw attention.

Do not refund until you have your items back.  Then refund promptly. The scammer will not be able to leave feedback.

The same advice holds for Paypal, including credit card chargebacks through PP.
PP insists that the buyer pay return shipping.

@geesgems

The buyer has 30 days to open a case on Ebay.

If they paid with Pay Pal, they have 180 days.

Have a great day.

Re: How long do I have to Wait for buyer response

The ball is in her court. It could be she is looking for a partial refund, but you did the right thing in offering her a full refund only. But did she open a Not As Described case? If that is true, then all you can do is state "return for refund" and you will have to pay for return shipping.

So you will have to wait this out. There is nothing you can do but see what her next move is. If she opened a case, be sure to answer "return for refund" within the timeline eBay allows. Good luck.

Unfortunately, you will gain nothing by a continual back and forth.  Also, it is a common ploy to get a partial refund.  The simple response is:

Dear buyer,

I'm sorry you aren't pleased with your purchase.

Please return for a full refund.

Best regards,

Seller
