I have a buyer who requested a return about 45 days after delivery....EBAY still put my funds on hold. I thought a buyer could only request a return within 30 days of delivery? Please someone tell me why this is allowed? Am I missing something?

Thats so **bleep** stupid, ebay blatantly put a hold on my funds...I couldve avoided this bulls7t. Another lie and scam from EBAY to trick sellers.

A buyer can open a case any time, but the MBG expires after 30 days.
After that, Ebay leaves it up to the seller if they want to accept it or not, but they won't get involved.

I have heard eBay doing this past the 30 day mark, guess depends on what rep the buyer has spoken to
Now was this eBay return or did the buyer file with their financial institution? That they can do 3-6 months after purchase

It's allowed because you still have the option of allowing (or denying) the return. It is odd that they hold the funds before you accept the return. If you do deny the return, I am guessing that it will take a while to have those funds taken off of hold. In most cases I would probably still accept the return if for no other reason than in preventing a future chargeback.

Does that still allow a hold on funds? Can I refuse the return after already accepting it?
I accidentally thought it was within the 30 day window and accepted the return. The customer bought the wrong (incompatible) item (PC component) and I approved the return thinking I had to since ebay put a hold on funds...

I think once accepted it is a done deal unless the buyer does not ship item back in the allotted time frame

If you already accepted the return, there's nothing you can do but wait for it to return.

They put a hold on the funds because a return was opened.
You could have declined the return and the funds would have been released.
Accepting the return, might have saved you an extra $20.
If you had declined the return, buyer could have filed a case with their payment source, then you might have been out the item, money and Ebay would have charged you $20
