Trying to apply for raising the seller limit doesn't work and I really do not have anything to sell for $10, but I suppose I could find SOMETHING for $10 that someone would want to buy. So, if I list something and sell it for $10, will I get approved to sell for a higher amount after the month's evaluation? I have like 0 negative reviews out of 40, but I haven't sold anything in over two years so I am wondering if that is why a lot has changed since I last sold something! I have a lot of items between 100-500 that I would like to sell but can't!
Thanks

As a new seller, you'll have to start at the bottom and work your way up.
Have you signed up for Managed Payments?

Yes, as it has been a while since you sold, you are considered a new seller again.

The fact that you haven't sold anything in over two years is the key here.
eBay treats sellers who've been inactive for awhile just like brand new sellers, meaning you'll have a limit until you've accumulated some feedback currently.

Some sort of limit makes sense, but a $10 limit seems a bit ridiculous.
What I find really odd is how so many brand new ebayers can list an expensive electronic item as their very first listing and others have to start with really low limits. It doesn't make sense.

Yes, there is no consistency with ebay and rules enforcement. My limit was raised to $300K without even having to ask. Believe me that's not going to be met.

Exactly, and it is supposed to be limited to protect the new seller from scams.
But who is going to scam for a $10.00 item ?
Let a new seller list a $1000 item - eBay get's the fee's regardless so it makes me think all is not equal in this little game and these are not just the one's that ''slip through the cracks'' but rather a well thought out design.
I have been imported from Australia and this is my posting ID

I honestly don't understand a $10 limit, but if that's what eBay has allotted you, I guess you will have to find something of that value to sell and/or find another venue to sell on...You could plead your case with eBay support but highly doubt you'd get anywhere. I believe every 30 days you can request an increase. However, requesting an increase does not necessarily equate to receiving an increase. You will need to earn the increase by proving yourself to eBay that you do have the credibility that they require now for "new/occasional/haven't sold inawhile" sellers.

If your limit has been lowered to $10, that would indicate you need to contact customer service. Most likely there is some additional information you need to supply to be able to sell items again.

Selling $10 items helps you understand the process.
When to ship. Where to ship.
Understanding the details of how payments make their way to your checking account.
How much of the actual payment is deposited.
What the eBay Money Back Guarantee works and who they are protecting. (hint* not the seller)
I've been here 15+ years and the maximum value I will list is $150.
Never list what you can't afford to lose.

I've never understood that either.

Is it $10 or "Up to $10 and/or 10 items"?
Because selling 10 items at Auction with an opening bid of $1.00 might be feasible.
And a reasonable shipping rate.
Personally I'd be very nervous unless I was content with getting only one bid, but YMMV.

It is $10, 1 item per month. I think I have some old CPUs that aren't worth more than $10 so I will try listing that, hopefully someone is looking for a 10-15 year old CPU haha.

I understand that but eBay, from the last time I have sold on here, had a lot of fraud support back when I last sold and I feel like that only got better. I've sold multiple GPUs and laptops over $500-$1k before and it worked like a charm. I understand that it would appear to eBay that I am a novice seller again so I will try to maybe just sell a $10 item and then contact support. I have accumulated so many components and I do not get anywhere on FB Marketplace, eBay has always been my go-to!
Thank you for the reply.

I don't think I have, I don't remember having anything like that back in 2019. I will look up how to enable that, thank you for the reply!
