How does payment work if I've received payment and then ebay pulls listing?

Now that ebay is handling payment how does it work if I've received payment for an item and then ebay pulls the listing?

Does ebay take the money back or do I still get to keep it?

Back when being paid with paypal was an option it wasn't a problem.

Which was important because I've had 3 things that violated no rule get pulled in the past, and now with secret lists of ebay banned books, and other potential objects of hate, it could happen to anyone.

What were you selling?  Did you ship it?

If you sell something, you have to ship. YOU CAN NEVER EVER KEEP THE CUSTOMER'S MONEY.   If the listing was pulled, do you have the name and address of the buyer. If yes, you can still ship the item to them. If you can't print through Ebay, then you go to www.usps.com or to the post office and you ship the item.  Make sure that you retain the tracking number.   If you look in my ebay, does the actual listing show?  If yes, you should be able to refund from there if you chose to not ship the item.

You listed a Thing.

A buyer paid for it.

You shipped it.

EBay transferred the payment to your bank account.

The transaction is complete.

But.

From time to time eBay will end/remove listings that it decides are not appropriate. Recently eBay dropped the entire Adult category to much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Occasionally someone will list an item that is restricted- like N95 masks or hand sanitizer - and eBay will either refuse or remove the listing.

The fuss over "secret lists" is just paranoia. The complaint about the Seuss titles that were pulled by the Suess family was carefully explained at the time and widely ignored by snowflakes who actively want to feel hard done by.

I have received payments from a few buyers who were or became unregistered. I usually have mailed out items after eBay told me not to by email. I still got the money for the sold items...in my past...not lately. I never saw eBay take back the money received to me.You need to know why listing was pulled. For me a number of times it was an unregistered eBayer. Might not be what was sold. Check the buyer's feedback to see if they are still registered.

There is a chance that an Unregistered Buyer was using a stolen credit card and in those cases the seller can assume that the real cardholder will make a chargeback for the unrecognized purchase. So care should be taken.

     I am a bit confused. If your item sold there should not be a listing to pull. Are you saying eBay canceled the order? You indicated you had received payment have you actually shipped the item? If you shipped the item and it is successfully delivered there should be no reason why eBay would refund the buyer unless the buyer requests a refund/return or files an eBay or chargeback for INR or NAD.

Could be they are just asking a just in case question. The OPs last feedback for solds was over a year ago. Returning sellers that have not sold in past 90 days can have funds held up to 30 day before payout and you need to be signed up for managed pay to receive payment.

eBay will let you know what to do when it pulls a listing. It usually tells you not to ship. It is likely you will not get the money. I would check with eBay if there is any doubt before you ship if I were you. You might end up losing the item and your money. Obviously you can't keep the money and not ship anything.

This question is really not something to worry about.

What is a worry is that, as a returning seller, you may not know that Paypal is no longer used by eBay as their payment processor.

Have you registered for a Managed Payments account, and submitted your checking account number with a bank in your country so that eBay can transfer your customer payments to you?

Do all the names on your accounts match exactly?

If your name is John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith, you cannot have a bank account as J J  Jingleheimer Smith , a Managed Payment account as John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith, and an eBay account as JJJ Smith.

Even then as a returning seller, your payments will be held for up to 30 days until you have shown that your performance is satisfactory.

And those funds will normally be transferred to your checking account once a week as a default.
