How do you report price gouging on hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes?

I can't seem to find categories for it when reporting. What do you choose?

Everyone can follow this.

It's disgusting how many people are price gouging in times like this.

I've seen the same issue here recently. Sellers of 3M N95 and N100 masks are revising their listing headings with different key words like " respirator " instead of dust mask. For some reason 3M N95 and N100 Particulate Respirator seems to slide by.

How do you report price gouging on hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes?

I reported a listing for 10 medical masks for $2000 two days ago, and it's *still there*. I reported it again yesterday

No obfuscation in the listing, and it's listed in the medical category.

Another seller has nearly 100 separate listings for disposable masks.

It is also really fun to place a max bid of $1,000,000,000 so when the seller in question tries to get to to pony up the cash, you just tell them no and they don't profit on sanitizer.

Aren't these sellers even slightly worried that there is a hell?

Apparently E-bay sellers do NOT have too follow Declared emergency price gouging laws set by the Federal Government.

What are the Federal price gouging laws?

I found one from 2007 and one from 2013, but those only apply to gasoline and petroleum products.

I thought it was the States who were empowered to enact price-gouging laws.

File a complaint in California.  Ebay's HQ will have to respond to this

Can't folks just wash their hands well with soap and water? Seems like 15 minutes ago hand sanitizers and wipes weren't even a thing for consumers.  Sort of like bottled water.

If you decided to buy and pay for an item, use the details you get from the sale and go to your state's attorney general website for consumer complaints and file a price gouging complaint.  In the report you can provide the sellers' information and contact.  Since you paid with payment forms you can include that as well.  Once this happens depending on your state (link below) the seller who raised the price of toilet paper or other necessity more than 10-15% of normal price will then be subject to each state's laws prohibiting this practice that is running rampant on ebay.  Laws by link below.

I saw one seller yesterday who has sold 50+ cases of 4pack charmin at 38 dollars a pop.  That's about 500-1000% profit.  Ebay profits on the fees and despite their efforts to remove all these listings, they have plenty of money transactions having occurred over the weekend and don't have the resources clearly to stop 20,000 listings in just toilet paper alone.  This is why stores are wiped clean.  The news hopefully will start bringing up this issue and put pressure on ebay for being partially responsible for the reason we have shortages.

EXACTLY!  All I want is one can, ONE can of Lysol spray for door handles and peace of mind.  These people are the reason the average American can't buy disenfecting cleaners, toilet paper, etc.  There's a special place in Hell for these people.

It is called capitalism.  Supply and demand.   Stop whining about people trying to make money.   It is very expensive to ship items around the country.   You can't expect people to ship heavy items for dollar store prices.

It won't hurt to help them out and report ones we see, like this:

I really hope these sellers lose their selling IDs. They know they're prohibited. And $100 for 2 sanitizers? Oh yeah they know exactly what they're doing.

Since everyone is reporting these sellers it wont be long and none of these items will be available on Ebay, then no one will have to worry about reporting these sellers as all these items will be banned soon on Ebay. Problem solved. Then the buyers can just go to the store and buy said products. If the store is still out of said products then the buyer can be happy they didn't pay the higher price that they seen on Ebay. At the end of the said story the buyer just removed their option they once had to purchase said product. The best way i found to battle the price gougers is to just move on to the next listing because if they dont sell such product they will just lower the price until it sells. Just my take on it.
