How do you put a value on this?

A vintage snapshot photo of an Israel fighter with an UZI.  How can you figure out what a collector would even pay for something like this?  It's all a guessing game.  The "Don't price it high" crowd will chime in.  What is high?   lol  What is low?  😛

Your is a very good post.  But the lazy and those who don't enjoy seeking and learning will never get it.

@1tuna

"to me if I were to be honest it looks like this

baby faced schoolboy  in a sweater with a weird hat holding a gun

this person does not look like much of a fighter if you ask me"

From my own experiences, I would necessarily disagree:  the thousands of platoons in World War II and the Korean War and the Vietnam War were filled to overflowing with "baby faced schoolboys. . .with a weird hat holding a gun."  The faces of the young survivors of those wars may still have appeared "baby faced" upon returning to civilian life; but their war-time experiences had forever been implanted with the horrors to which they had been witness.

And, perhaps the same might be said of the young person in the photo.  The quality of the photographic process used suggests pre-1950s to early 1950s; so it is possible that the young individual may have been conscripted into the Israeli army as a a result of the Arab-Israeli War of 1948.  The Israel Defense Force adopted the Uzi in 1954; and the photo may very simply depict a young member (either male or female) of the IDF, before military uniforms had become standardized.  (As with the United States Armed Forces in the 1940s, the distribution system for hats, boots, shirts and trousers was haphazard -- you accepted what was issued, and then traded amongst your platoon until you eventually pieced together a set of clothing that fit.  Perhaps that explains the undersized hat.)

The photo definitely needs more research; but, if the photo legitimately depicts a young person of military age in Israel in the early 1950s, cradling an Uzi, I would hesitate to state that this individual "does not look like much of a fighter."  Over the course of 76 years, I have seen many of my baby-faced friends, neighbors and relatives march off to various overseas wars.

Some came back.

And some did not.

Over 50 years later, young baby-faced Doug, and we miss you yet.

As always, you have no idea what you are talking about.  Just come on here to offer narrow-minded opinions.  Someone might offer me $10 & I might sell at that price.   Please stop acting like you know everything about all items & people.  Stop acting like you can read peoples' minds, too.  It is funny that, for 20 years, I added the 'unless otherwise described' sentence in my listings & it did not stop me from doing fairly well; great at moments.  Now, suddenly, the last 1 1/2 years, it is the root of my dismal sales?   LOL!
