How do sellers offer carts for their customers to use?

A few times, a customer wants to buy several items, then have me combine shipping.  But they will tell me I have no cart to offer.  Is this something I need to establish - set up?  They will usually pay for the items and then I have to refund shipping.  Is this normal?

How do sellers offer carts for their customers to use?

Great idea!

Ebay has always been known for using 10 steps to do a task when 2 would work just as well.

Your listings show a cart already, there's nothing you need to do.

Have a great day.

You don't have to do anything to enable the shopping cart. It is there for buyers to use on all items.

However, your items don't permit the buyers to request combined shipping. It says it is because they require immediate payment but I'm not sure if this is just a default statement or if its really informative.

Hopefully, other responders will come along who know how to fix this and allow combined shipping through the shopping cart.

If we could find a way to get eBay buyers to use that shopping cart?

eBay life would become rainbows and unicorns again.

OK, Dirk.  Seems the problem with my cart (that I didn't know I had) is because I request immediate payment for Buy It Now.  That is because I don't want to wait til the buyer gets the urge to pay.  So I guess I'll just refund excess shipping charges.  It doesn't happen all that often.  But I seriously GOT A GOOD LAUGH from the RAINBOWS and UNICORNS.  I need more of all 3.  Laughs, rainbows, and the elusive unicorn.  Thank you for that.  It's my first time to Ask the Community, and it works.  Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving week.  Cindy

I have 'immediate payment required' but can still do automatic combined shipping.  Of course trick is to get them to use the CART so it's automatic...  MOST of my customers know how to use a shopping cart, but some still check out separately, and I have to refund.

Click Edit next to Calculated Shipping Rule:

Personally I use the 'Combine all item weights'.

IMPORTANT:  For the calculations to get it right, it is all even more important that you have the correct size and weight in EACH item listed.

The process for the buyers (And the sellers)  is so much easier

if the buyer can find and then use the shopping cart.

Get him in that darn cart and maybe we'll figure out a way

to direct him to the "Request combined shipping"   button.

Oh I agree.  I've 'feature requested' that the Buy it Now button goes away, as it is from a bygone era of eBay.  Just have the Add to Cart and be done with it.
